How Great Is Chipotle?

I had Chipolte for the first time when I went to NYC a few weeks back. Not bad, a little on the expensive side. I normally eat at Moe's for my Mexican fast food fix.

BTW Chiptole is owned by McDonald's and isnt any healthier than any other proccessed food that corporation makes. I rather eat fresh corn tortillas then ones made from processed and come out of bag. I rather have real beef thats been freshly cooked and cut at the restaurant, then one thats been cooked, frozen, shipped and rewarmed. I rather have salsa that is made in house, rather than out of a can. Hey thats just me

As for the comments about real Mexican/Texmex. You don't go to these places for the authenticity - you go because it's just plain good. There are plenty of legit Mexican places in Phoenix, but sometimes you just are in the mood for something else.

Bleh. I went to A&M as well, class of 06 whoop. But I still rarely ate at freebirds. they have more stuff than chipotle, but the quality is like comparing Taste of Texas or another upscale steakhouse to something like saltgrass.

I see you live in Houston now, as do I. Ever got to Mission Burrito? Pretty good place, but Chipotle is still my #1.

Gave Freebird's a try on several occasions and meh....it's aight.
Chipotle over Freebirds any day of the week IMO.

Now Mission Burrito is

, would even say better than Chipotle due to more variety. All this talk is making me hungry!!

I guess it depends on your perspective. I rarely eat fast food these days so my outlook is different. Chipotle is definitely better than Mickey Ds.

and I totally agree... I will admit that eating out is more of a summer or when I'm home in Chicago thing for me but when I do there are a select few places I will go.

Chipotle
Burger King (like once every few months)
Wendys (also once every few months)
Taco Bell (late night)
Muskies Hamburgers (best kept secret in Lincoln Park)
Giordano's Pizza
Dragon Inn North (best Chinese food in the Chicago suburbs)
Mustards Last Stand (hot dog joint next to Northwestern's Ryan Field)

Thats basically it... maybe jimmy johns or subway if I'm desperate.

I haven't eaten McDonald's since I was 11... I'm turning 28 in two months.

i hope you said something cuz once my meat was cold, i asked about it and they gave me a free meal card for next time I was there AND made me a new burrito with some warm chicken.
