I have my updates off both on car and app since I'll be doing a unlock soon, but no don't need to recode if it does update.

Would I be correct in assuming that your buddy cannot code remotely? If he could, I am sure he would make some money from members here.

As said previously, it is for aesthetic purposes only.
You are welcome to your opinion on whether you feel it’s aesthetically pleasing to you of course.

Wow! This is my dream to make same update for my 230i. Is it even possible though for my base model?
I got the car from the auction with damaged bumper. So I’m wondering if I could purchase original BMW M-Trim rear bumper kit from 240i and install it on my 230i with dual exhaust tip like on the picture

Can't see why not, the bodylines and the bumper are the same, it should be something that is swappable.

Removed almost entire interior and rear bumper trim. Bringing my new car 2023 230i xdrive back to live! A lot of work ahead but I'm super motivated to complete all repairs and mods eventually!

yep, seems like skeleton of the frame is the same for 230i base, 230i m trim, and 240i. I put together pics to compare so hopefully I will be able to accomplish this upgrade like #1 or #2
