I am sure of absolutely nothing! I just tried to find a vessel that left veracruz and was going to NYC in the right time frame. I thought "cargo ship" would be the right type of vessel.

I'm nearly positive you are on the Glovis Sunrise as well. That is expected to arrive in NY/NJ on 11/19ish, though it is likely going to be 11/20 at the earliest now after Brunswick delays.

That trip up the Delaware to the Philly port is bitch of a detour. If we don't have to go there, even with 2 stops in Baltimore we should get to NY by the weekend.

It won't show up on Vessel Finder until it departs Baltimore for the next port before we know if its going to Philly but based on the original schedule I really doubt theres time. I think it was originally going to be 11/16 at Baltimore and 11/19 at NY/NJ...thats tight with time in Baltimore to stop in Philly and still make NY/NJ by 11/19...that being said, we do KNOW there are Kias on the boat and I KNOW philly receives Kias...

There is a big list of ship arrivals, but I think this list is populated only when the vessel's next destination is PONY. It there is an intermediate stop it does not show.

Called Genius line and they said there have been no updates on my car even though they told me to call back today. Guess they are still processing vehicles and trying to get them scheduled for delivery.

Thats what I'm saying - Philadelphia wouldn't show up until it leaves baltimore. Obviously Sunrise is going to NY, I was just using that to show that there are no SCHEDULED vehicle carriers for NY since none are on their way.

I never realized it but even once it gets into the chesapeake bay, its still 150nm from Baltimore.
Dionysos Leader is about 12nm outside the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel and its still saying 151nm until Balitmore...thats like 10 hours for travel time at Glovis Sunrise's current speed.

I would have hoped yours would be on its way to the dealer at least. Would they have that information for you if it was on a truck?

No…I work in fiber optics and wavelengths we use are measured in nanometers, kinda hurts every time I write nm as nautical miles.

Yes. That bay is huge. Two years ago I got caught in a zero visibility unforecasted squall line while boating there - boy it felt like forever getting back to the dock.

And there is massive ship traffic in the channels. Including the occasional aircraft carrier 😎

Same. Work with PON and QAM video wave lengths around 1550nm.

But also a pilot with a lot of time flying a plane with ~1500 nm range.

I’m non-binary when it comes to nm 😎

Evening update:

Gloves sunrise is 260 NAUTICAL MILES (not nanometers) from Baltimore
Currently traveling at 16.1knts
Still says reported eta is 6:30am but that’s just not possible
Estimated eta is 1:06est (more reasonable)

Note: won’t be doing a morning update, have to wake up at 4:30 to go cheer my SO at the Philly half marathon, should have a mid day though.

Ahh yeah I do fiber optic telecom stuff so 1550/1310/some 1490(previous role was all wireless)…I’ve only had 2 pilot lessons but would love to get my license, coworker and I have talked about it, a lot.
