Exclamation

I also ended staying up late and watched this.
It is easily one of the BEST films I've watched in 2021 of any genre. Absolutely amazing. WOW! The trailer does not fully convey the story, twists, and powerful acting. Of course the action and production value are marvelous.

Yes indeed. The sequel. . . Not so much.
However, they are making a Anime that looks promising.

Hard pass based on the trailer.

Have to admit I didn't love the trailer either, but maybe it's like TXSTYLE said, "the trailer does not fully convey the story, twists, and powerful acting."

Try these if you’re into sour. I’m drooling now just thinking about them.

Pretty much. I'd go so far as to say that the trailer does not even scratch the surface of the actual film. But hey, it's all good.

I'm not difficult at all about movie; cheap one on tv on sunday afternoon, love movies, big production, comedy (yes even the 'scary movie' like reboots), drama, CC in other language movies, name-it.

but F9 was very disappointing VS the hype. Hard to follow, too many characters, all invincible, poor humour, and yes they still shifting automatic cars.

I missed Busan when it was free in Netflix. Saw the sequel while searching for the original on Prime. The sequel trailer seemed...different. Thanks for the head's up!

Lightbulb

So I watched The Forever Purge.

I will address it's entertainment value first: 3/5
It can stand on its own without ever having watched the previous films. Solid action. Good characters that were cast well for their respective roles.
The premise albeit far fetched, looking at this nation's state of affairs over the last 4 years, it actually makes the premise, political undertones and the cast of characters very believable.
I went in not expecting much. And it was slightly better than expected.

Saw Suicide Squad in theaters today. Was a good movie. Has anyone seen PIG with Nicolas Cage yet?

I saw the preview for PIG on AppleTV. Seems highly rated but also seems hard to believe it exists.

There's a lot of sameness right now. The use of the sudden rush whooooosh sound effects is getting tiresome too. I find myself very disinterested in modern movies and looking to the 80s and 90s to catch up on great ones I missed.

Ended up watching it and didn’t care for it. It was slow and I didn’t understand the ending.

Finished this today. He loved his pig and the pig was cute. Didn't much care for the movie, like mentioned above.

When the credits were running you could hear him digging, so I guess he just went on looking for truffles without his pig.
