FYI, SLP is currently producing 350 +/- cars daily. That is nearly 11,000 cars a month +/-.
That's more than i thought. I thought they were doing about 60k units year based on some 2021 data I found online. Are you going off BMW marketing material?

It would be easy to figure out i guess - are they building anything other than the 2 series and 3 series there? Are all 3 series built there for worldwide distribution? or just certain markets? There's probably data for 2022 deliveries by model.

Mmmh. All data are for cars that were "Ready for transport" early in their respective month. Then, they sat waiting to be shipped early in the next month.

Mine just reached "Ready for transport" 26 Jul. Wondering if it will make on time for shipped in early Aug or if it will have similar delay in mean days. No idea on shipping frequency.

On dealer's waitlist since Nov last year and received my MY24 allocation today (NorCal). I was told they're having trouble adding Carbon Package to my order again and will try to add it next week. Finger crossed.

Since you are in Canada, doesn't yours go by train? How often do trains leave SLP to go to Canada?

I have seen here other fellow Canadians were saying we get ours via trains as well. However, I haven't seen from an official source. I would ask my CA but while he is good guy, his knowledge is underwhelming.

Seems odd that ours would cross the entire US while yours go by boats.

Could be though.

I’m in NorCal also and received an allocation today. I was able to add my production number in the BMW my garage website and I see the carbon package added with the bucket seats in the specs.

I do have a question, I want the frozen pure grey color but I know it goes into production starting November. Am I able to wait to add the frozen color when it is available even if I have production number?

G42 & G87 production is for worldwide distribution. It is also the only manufacturing facility to produce either model. SLP G20 production is for NA distribution.

By my rough math using 2022 delivery data by model, that would translate to less than 60k cars built in all of 2022. That's a fraction of the currently claimed numbers.

I know BMW PR is claiming 500 cars/day but the actual data (for 2022, at least) is telling a different story. Of course the logistic issues may have more than one driver, but I am guessing the current output is a contributing factor.

Is anyone with a carbon bucket car even in production? Mine has bounced back and forth from “scheduled for production” and “ordered received” 4 times now since May. Feel like even though they are being accepted none are being built.

You are using G42 sales data for the entire world in your equation? Only AG will have those numbers. Clearly the G87 will now factor into that as well, but it was obviously absent for 2022.

If you got the allocation now, and it's not orderable until November, you won't be able to do it. You'd have to have given up your allocation and kept moving back a spot in line every month until then.

Well hopefully mine starts soon. Starting to feel like it’s not happening.

Got my allocation as well today from my.dealer in Ilinois. I was number 2 on the list. So I am guessing they got several allocations. I really would love the Frozen gray as well. I thought that was orderable from this point forward?

The frozen color options are not available until November.

I’m supposed to be one of them but my CA has been out sick. I’ll be crawling out of my skin until he gets back and wraps it up.

Good point. I trust my guy, but my anxiety is off the charts. Let’s see what tomorrow brings. I suspect I’ll get in wrapped up in the next couple of days. If not I’ll check with him.

Hi all. I’m somewhat of a lurker who was just notified that my allocation has come through. I’ve been on the list since November 2022. I’ve enjoyed reading all your posts on the G87 and am excited that the ball is now rolling. Manual BSM will be headed my way at some point in the (maybe not so-) near future. Thanks for having me.

US and Canada numbers for G42. Even if RoW G42 sales are as strong as U.S. and Canada combined, it's still around 60k cars for 2022.

SLP production is currently running at over 12,000 vehicles per month: https://mexico-now.com/bmw-group-inc...-in-slp-by-87/

Current plant max capacity is 175,000 vehicles per year: https://www.visita-bmw-slp.com.mx/?lang=en
