I doubt you will notice a difference with the stock intake.

With aftermarket it’s definitely noticeable.

Not really. Maybe a bit more turbo noise but that was likely placebo effect.

The engine idle clatter is a bit more pronounced outside the car.

Will probably put it back on.

I just did it because why not. Everything was going smooth then my last clip popped off and fell into the underbody abyss. So if i ever reattach this i have to order probably an entire pack.

Have you had a chance for a test drive? Any improvement in feedback or on center behavior?

You can order just one, if that’s all you need.

Just go to your dealer to get one. That way you won’t have to pay shipping for something that probably costs 10 cents.

Yeah I've driven around a bit more. Feedback and on centre feel seems to have improved but only mildly. The car can still wander a bit when on the highway and I couldn't feel it in the steering wheel... but less than before. I would say the biggest improvement is in steering response. Small steering adjustments are more noticeable and immediate, which leads to more confidence and more fun! Braking seems more stable too.

Bought a replacement remote for the SST Valve Controller as the buttons were a bit fiddly to hit without looking, lot easier with this, programed really easy.

Installed a SST Valve Controller on my 230i. Overall a pretty simple process.

Where did you get this from? Nevermind, I found it on both ebay and Amazon

Mine is brand new, but I can defintely see the benefit of the button design on this one.

Does the SST controller provide a noticeable difference in sound versus fuse pull? If yes, worth $300?

I can't answer about the fuse, but since I got mine for $200 I certainly think it was worth it.

It’s nice to be able to force 100% open / closed. Only opens about 70% at WOT without the controller. Also, without it, the flap fluctuates how much it’s open based on load. From what I’ve read. I’d say it’s worth it with stock exhaust. Much more so with upgraded exhaust.

With fuse pull it’s only open 70%? I remember reading this was the case but was it confirmed?

If you use bimmer link and open the valve, then pull the fuse it is 100% open.

The sound difference on stock exhuast and downpipe is not significant, no need for a controller, just do the above.

Yes. But valve controller is worth the money for the option to put it in OEM mode or go 100% open at anytime. Also, I programmed my SST remote into my Homelink buttons on the mirror. One for OEM and one for 100% open. The last for my garage door

You would be surprised. Depends on neighborhoods, when I take it into dealer, etc. I have one on my G83 as well. I run it 99.9% 100% open but nice to have the option instead of a pulled fuse is all I am saying so not exactly none.
