Never had stock setup before this. Had it ordered and installed at port. Car is a tiny bit stiff at times but overall compliant. My other car running KW v3 and this rides way better!

Is yours 10mm drop? I heard port installs are 10 by default.

How do you find the ride quality vs stock? Is this a 10mm drop?

Yes. Was plenty low for me, especially since with the carbon lip I do scrape occasionally

Great thanks. Do you find the ride quality is the same as stock given it’s not past 10mm or is it more stiff? I heard once you go past 10mm it gets more stif due to less spring travel.

Honestly at 10mm it’s the same as stock if not even more comfortable

I’m having this installed next week by BMW to keep warranty. I heard some people saying they may need to adjust the headlights since it’s lowered, but that kinda doesn’t make sense to me. Have you heard anything like that?

For my Miata I purchased a dongle that plugs into the OBDII that initializes the auto leveling headlights.

When you lower the car (at least in the Miata) it messes up the auto leveling headlights and would aim them really high up and this would fix it.

In this illustration I'm using the front struts. The rear uses shocks but the principal is the same. The HAS kit lowers the car in a couple of ways. The spring perch is replaced with an adjustable one that sits lower on the OEM strut. The replacement springs that come with the kit are also shorter. To make up for slightly shorter springs any quality HAS kit will also come with shorter bump stops. If you've ever heard of people saying their ride sucks and they are always riding on their bump stops that's what they mean. There isn't enough compression range, and they are always on the bump stops. Think of bump stops as just another spring, 'riding it' increases the spring rate which results in a stiffer ride. That's why you always hear me preaching that getting a 'quality' HAS kit that comes with shorter ones is a must.

***There are always caveats when modding. Because the HAS kit is adjustable, meaning the spring perch lets you raise and lower the car you can go lower than the recommended setup. The M Performance HAS kit lowering range is 5-20mm when compared to stock. BMW recommends 10mm, but at some point past 10mm you will have less compression than the stock suspension before you hit the bump stops. Some people might be OK with this (like me ), others might not. It's at your discretion but even if you want a 100% stock ride you can lower the G87 at least 10mm without any impact to the ride quality. The beauty of a HAS kit is you can play with it. If it's too low and you are not happy raise it until you are. It'll still be lower than stock and since you are lowering the entire cars center of gravity it will handle better than stock.

EXAMPLE (These are generic struts for illustration purposes only)
Can you confirm that the HAS kit spring actually sit lower on the shock than the stock springs do? This is the first time I am reading this and it's reasuring to hear because this means in theory at a 10mm drop you aren't losing any suspension travel. Which ultimately could net a factory like ride at a 10mm drop. I know that I am repeating some of what you are already saying but I'm hoping you have some way to confirm that the spring perch does in fact sit lower on the shock body.

The stock spring perch is replaced with an adjustable one that also has a lower profile allowing the new spring to sit lower on the parch. You're not going to find any documentation with measurements if that's what you're looking for. You can however search for install videos of the MPHAS on the G80, G82 or G87 as they all use the same kit.

No spacers in this picture. The other pic in the rain, has 10mm in the front.
Looks sick. Do you find the ride is still kinda similar at 20mm compared to stock? I’ve heard it feels very similar just lower which is good.

Ride around with your suspension in sport and that’s what it now feels like in comfort.

That’s good. BMW installed mine at 10mm today and it literally looks and feels the same as stock so I told them to lower it all the way to 20mm tomorrow. One thing I noticed and maybe it was just me but my steering got stiffer in a good way did you feel something similar?

Possibly it has to do with the new steering angle.

Make sure they do an alignment after the drop to 20mm too.

Yep they said they would. Is yours at 20mm? How does it feel compared to stock?

Still at 10mm personally. Waiting to see fitment when I swap the tires to wider on the SLAs since I kept the stock ps4s originally.

10mm looked and felt exactly like stock, almost slightly higher IMO (with slightly better handling) which is why I’m lowering
