They told me $1,500 too initially but then ended up telling me I'm on the list and they're not taking deposits. Wish they would take my money lol

I'm still waiting to hear back from them. I'm on a list up in Stuart as well. Most dealerships that I called in south Florida wouldn't open up a list until the official reveal.

I contacted BMW of Pines last week for a deposit and supposedly I'd be #9 if I were to put a deposit then, however I later came to find out Fort Lauderdale and Pines share the same list so no point in having 2 spots in the same dealer.

Pines and Ft Lauderdale are under the same Dealership/Ownership (Holman) - under normal circumstances they never mark up.

However, my sources tell me the M2 will be subject to ADM.

Vista and Braman are notorious for markups. They weren't even selling G42 for msrp - at least when it was new they were marking up 5-10k on both 230's and m240's.

Vista VW wanted 5k over on GTI's and 10k on R's lol.

From my experience and not with bmw, buying new cars in the past 2 years, only sure way to avoid MSRP is to go through an ordering process. You’re almost guaranteed a mark up if you buy what on the lot.

But yes braman is notorious for mark ups, even when ordering and waiting for an allocation they told me they would want $10k over sticker on the G87.

Correct - I thought this to be common knowledge but thanks for pointing it out in case others are unaware. In the market's current landscape of post covid/low inventory/chip shortages - the South Florida scene is, well, very capitalistic. Vista offered me a "discount" off of ADM when the g42 was first launched if I ordered. Braman probably the worst.

Only Holman (Lauderdale/Pines) promised MSRP on my g42 order. It was to my surprise, however, and the SA's as well - that management will not promise the same on the g87. Holman usually takes pride in no markups.

Then again, Holman Audi will also be marking up the RS3.

That is conflicting info from what I got, but I have this to somewhat fight any push back on a sticker mark up.

Good for you they have to honor that! Maybe my timing had the wrong GM on the clock. I personally ended up with the # 3 slot at another location outside our region after he deterred me with a potential markup.

Just had a sales manager in the southeast region promise me spot 3, msrp, 5k down refundable... is 5k high? Frankly, if it secures the spot what's the issue? Precedence?

Really high. I consider 2k to be high. I've got mine for 1k and have also seen 1500 here in the southeast.

Well. I'm going to move forward. Not in love with the idea of floating 5k for the next 8-12 months but he said they usually take 10% on M car pre-orders. I assume so that people have real skin in the game.

Yeah 5k is really high. Don't think I've seen one that high.

I'd put 10000 down if they discounted a M car in this market

I can understand 5k on an existing allocation. It's very odd a dealer would hold 5k on a car that hasn't even been officially revealed.

Make sure fully refundable and msrp are in writing if you decide to move forward.

Personal connection with the sales manager. He is out of town and coordinated everything on the phone but agreed to put the allocation spot in writing, refundable up until my allocation enters production, and msrp. He said he'll either write it on the deposit receipt and sign it or put it in email.

I would not pay $5k. Many dealers are doing the spots for free or at $1000

I am in the Southeast region. $1k is the norm at MSRP w/ signed doc by SM. $5k is absurd. Should be refundable regardless as MSRP is unknown. It is extremely difficult to hold individuals to a vehicle that has not even had official pricing released.

I was actually trying to message you privately. You mentioned the dealer earlier in this thread. Wanted to see (privately) if you had any insight
