2017 Grand Sport LT2 ordered and should be built by next week. Mine will not have the blue stripe pictured. Coming from a Porsche so this will be interesting!

Already moved to a 991S and a RAV4 for the grocery-getting. Might come back to the E92 one day.

One of the few things still keeping me attached to BMW is the M division. Mainstream BMWs are mostly just snooze-fests to drive nowadays.

I'd definitely venture to Porsche. Benz has really stepped it up but few of their vehicles are enjoyable to drive. And lol @ Audi...most bland, uninspiring, and characterless luxury vehicles on the road. Really disappointed in the new A5, Q7, Q5, etc. Boring from outside, boring from inside, and boring to drive.

Great choice! I am thinking about a convertible GS for next year.

I'd go to another sports or possibly grand touring car. Cayman GT4 appeals or possibly a Jag XKR.

Great choice. Looking at one of these, 2nd hand, as my next car in 4-5 years.

I would switch from a 2-seater to a 2-wheeler.

Honda CBR, Yamaha R6, or Suzuki GXR

Me too. That was about the only other things similar to the X1 35i. I want something quick, that can go through snow, and I can carry some things. The X1 has a few shortcomings, but overall I'm pretty content.

I really miss having a truck as a 3rd car for the family, it was just so convenient to be able to run to Home Depot to grab anything I needed and not have to worry about how to get it home.

That said, I've recently grown quite the hard on for the 2017 Ford Raptor. So much so that in 2-3 years when my wife's Grand Cherokee is close to paid off, I can see myself checking out the used market since I should be able to afford a 2017 come 2019/2020.

Just need to be careful since these are typically hooned on and have the crapped kicked out of them.

I have seen many members on rennlist 991 forums who came from BMW Ms, myself included There is quite a few of us who went from e9x M3 to the 991, natural progression I think?

I owned an E90 335i, and though I absolutely loved the car and BMW, ended up buying a new car from a different brand. Nothing personal, just a matter of circumstances and opportunity.

So I wonder, if you were making the switch out of BMW, what brand would you look to? Just hop over to M-B or Audi? Or would you go in a totally different direction and go up- or down-market? This is assuming you were using vehicles in your current capacity, of course.

Interested in hearing the results.
I have 2016 Z4 35i Sdrive. I would go upscale a bit. MB AMG GTS Roadster (when it is out) or Por. Targa 4S/GTS with hp enhancement.
Assuming within budget, I may opt for Ferrari California T. To me that car is Ferrari's Z4 35i SDr. but a bit quicker.

I would not go higher then that in upscale. Beyond are exotics like 911 Turbo S, various mid-engined and front engined GT Ferrari es. 'Ghini is not my style at all. Perhaps Spyker, as I consider the car with best taste.

A note on Audi's. Perhaps an AUDI aficionado can tell me, how does Audi pack so much weight into such a small volume as Audi TTS Roadster or TT R/S coupe.
WHile interesting, I don't have a craving for R8 Spyder.

2017 BMW X5 M  [9.50]
2016 Audi SQ5  [10.00]
After 3 BMW's over 7 years (550i, X5 4.8i, M4), went to an Audi SQ5, Audi Q3 and MB GLE 450 AMG Coupe.
The SQ5 is a keeper - through experience, Audi is a close second to BMW in performance if it's an S/RS model.

The GLE 450 AMG Coupe was my first and last MB (was a dud in every way) - which woke me up and brought me back to BMW after a long 13 months away.

2017 X5 M - delivered last week.

I would have to go with either a Mercedes for the equivalent choice and Porsche for the step up.

I don't like the way Audi handles just personal preference, but I have to give it to them for having the nicest/best interiors out there.
