I took 3 layers of plexiglass and hollowed it out to fit the PCB. At first I tried to make it with the buttons, but that area of the plexi was too weak and kept cracking. I decided to remove the buttons all together (I have comfort access and don't use them anyway). I changed the battery to a 2032 which is about half the size as the original. Then I painted it, added the stickers, and clear coated the whole thing. I really need to get access to a 3D printer or a cnc machine to make it that much better.

I left room on the side to be able to add the physical key. Just haven't felt the need to do it yet. I have a few ideas to add buttons to the side (not the originals).
How did you open your original fob? I'm thinking it is glued shut?

Yes it is sealed and not meant to be separated. Pull out the physical key. Then you could pry the two halves apart with a screwdriver. Alternatively, if you have a rotary tool (aka dremel) you can get a thin metal cutting disk and make a small cut. Then it will pry open really easily with minimal markings to the case.

4) The OEM X5/X6 chip board does NOT accommodate F8X and F3X chips, which means you won't be able to do the swap without using a retrofit chip board.

So to be clear, you're saying if I get an OEM key with the 434MHz board I can't swap the chips from my 434MHz F80 key? I need to get a replica key?

Basically they take a high quality replica X5M key and transfer a chip off your old board onto the new one. You just mail Sean a key and he takes care of the entire process for you.

Only catch is that the red panic button doesn't function and the physical key inside of the fob is blank.

Hi Guys, for those who is asking in PM, all 434HZ, 315HZ and 868HZ cars are retrofittable. Pull out your mechanical key from OEM key and you can see this. See picture below.

What do you mean, exactly?

Do you have to stick to the frequency when retrofitting, or does it matter at all because the frequency is determined by all the other circuitry?
