Totally agree with you, great render, but from behind looks bad, and outdated, the actual one looks way much better than this one IMO

Digging the G87 rear....still hoping they eventually lose the rear seats on the M2 though and can keep it at 3400 lbs.

Hoping the next M2 gets lighter and doesn't add weight like the M3/4 but I worry that won't be the case

So this will be BMW's next G-chassis product to get hit with the ugly stick.
Thankfully it appears that it won't be hit too hard. I definitely see some quirky bits but overall it should be bearable. The current car is near flawless in its look so there's no way this will top that. For all the grief I give BMW over how lame their F-chassis cars were to drive, at least they had the classic clean BMW look. The M2 luckily got both classic looks and driving dynamics.

IMHO, even though G-generation of the 2-series and the coveted M2 will be better than the F-gen, I think the F87 looks all sorts of perfect when compared to its sibling G-gen.
In fact I'll go out on a limb and say, on fun-factor and looks, from 1-series to 7-series, the F87 M2C and M2CS are the most BMW-like BMWs that BMW produced over the last decade. Now say that again!! They, it seems, simply captured all that encapsulates the true spirit of BMW, then injected it all into the F87.
