Figured I'd post my full build timeline. My port was in Oxnard, CA for a Northern Utah delivery.

My car seems to be regressing, not progressing. On 11/9 CA told me my car was in Baltimore, on 11/11 the Genius' told me it was in transit and would be in Baltimore on 11/12. Today, 11/15, The Genius' told me my car was still on hold in Brunswick and hasn't been scheduled to ship to Baltimore yet, but couldn't tell me why. I had hoped to get mine on 11/20, now I hope to get it by the end of the month.

Sorry to hear...so strange why your car is in Brunswick at all, much less still there now with GLOVIS SPIRIT in Baltimore now. GLOVIS SPIRIT visited Baltimore over the weekend at three different piers! Still there now. It has been weird how they schedule these cars. This week will be a tell on how my car makes it the 60 miles south to Northern Virginia or not. My CA thinks by weeks end.

Yeah, I asked the Genius if they knew why it went to Brunswick but he didn't have an answer. I wonder if something got screwed up in its routing, or there is something wrong (parts hold/missing part/damaged in transit) and that's why they haven't released it? I hope you get your car by weeks end!

So my car is supposed to arrive at the dealership today some time. Very interested to see if they hold off picking it up until Saturday. I asked my sales guy about that delay and he said he had not heard anything about it. My guess is until we try to get the deal done he won't see the road block for pickup. I am hoping to see it in person today or tomorrow.

So Mine is at the dealership now apparently. I will drive by to confirm this but whether they release it is another story.

I noticed there are a few 2 series cars there including two of the midnight metallic (assuming M240i). Is that dealership pretty large? Mine only had two allocations to start with.

So I have confirmed my car is at the dealership and we can't pick it up until Friday/Saturday. I say Friday because my Sales Rep is off Saturday so he is going to pull some strings here.

What's going on there in Baltimore??

At this point, I cannot say where my car is or will get off the boat or not. I am only assuming that when the ship leaves, my car's in Baltimore, if not on a truck. My salesman will reach out. We both have to just "suck on the silence!"

One update (Nov 16th)...my ship is still in Baltimore for four days (on going) now. In that time it has moved to a fourth pier location. It appears there is movement on my car today as my status went "back" to "At the Port". I can only assume that means it came off today. I may still have a weekend delivery since my dealer is only 59 miles away, but who know with all the weird movement and delays I've noticed on this board. Fingers crossed!

Yep, it's one of the largest in the nation(crevier). They have a decent amount of 2 series coming in, but from what I could see online and at the dealership mine is the only M240i allocation that has arrived.

Irvine BMW has at least 2 M240i's, but they're marking those up at least 10%.

Don't be so sure. My Sales manager never once seemed to be concerned with having to wait to sell the car, in spite of me asking her at least 3 tgimes. I am not sure if there are different rules based on cars being dealer allocations or HEA models or presold, but in spite of asking my Sales Manager 3 times, she said I would not have to wait, and I didn't.

Put down $1000 deposit and submitted my order on October 8. Dealer stated they still had a modifiable October allocation.


So far I've gotten an email the last 3 Fridays that states "We're still waiting on a production date for your M240i."

Wow, looks like the car deliveries are all over the map here. I saw my car today. Still has the wrapping on it for protection during travel. I am supposed to get mine released and picked up Thursday afternoon. We shall see how it goes. Thundernight Metallic is much darker in person that originally expected. Great with lights bouncing off it hence the display room using lights all over it. Definitely a strange market for new cars and orders. My CA mentioned that 80% of cars that arrive are already sold or have deposits on them right away.

Don't trust that tracker as its always behind a little bit or confused. I would email the Genius line to get better accurate details for your car. I should have my car by this weekend and I will give you guys some review of it plus pros and cons.

It's funny. I feel like BMW is in a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" kind of deal. Many posters on here have said they are fuming the cars won't have XM radio. They are of course entitled to feel that way, but with these part shortages I am sure BMW is trying to weigh the pros and cons of holding cars to maintain the features and shipping them ASAP to get them in customer's hands.

If the car is being held up for a specific part shortage, that's fine with me so long as they tell me what's going on. For example, they let me know ahead of time that the car would not have XM radio, and that was totally fine!
