anything over 400hp is already too powerful for me.

no brainer really
I know we are currently in a weird place with used cars assisted somewhat by the fact that there currently isn't a new M2 to buy but no one should be assuming that this situation will go on indefinitely. Dealers are already offering MSRP on the new car so getting someone to pay more for a used one is a stretch.

no, i think you are correct - i believe the (approx) 1650kg is DIN for the manual, with CF roof and carbon buckets (as presented yesterday).

Not only is the new m2 disappointing in appearance it might actually be one of the ugliest cars on the market when it comes out.

Exactly!…..but most don't want to pay the price to play in that arena though.

maybe not indefinitely but with local M allocation waiting times being minimum 6 months to average of 1 year I doubt this problem will be fixed in 2 years

I wish I could give negative reputation points every time a Porsche is brought up.

I totally agree! Never liked the headlamps either as they never had that BMWish look. However, the rest of the front is flowing and overall still looked like a BMW.
This new front is just not a BMW front with such non-BMW headlamps. Now the grills are smaller but boy, are they ugly….
For real, the headlights look like nothing from the BMW lineage and more so something that you would find on a VW Beatle…

Hmm.. 🤔

Worst first year car experience I had was with the Cadillac ATS. The car was mechanically great but CUE was horribly horribly buggy. They replaced a bunch of stuff in the car and it still had issues. Cadillac eventually offered to buy it back. I know iDrive8 is newish but I'm not terribly worried about any part of the car other than how it looks!

I actually rather like the look of the G87. The blocky vents look a lot better than the triangular vents on the M240i. Back end looks fine, but I do wish they used a major traditional taillight look like the ones on the LCI E90, E46 etc. It also has the smaller kidney grilles as opposed to the big snout on the G8x cars.

I wonder if it will have a manual? Definitely will be the last 'small' BMW with a manual.

It should look better in darker colors. It helps hide the ugly.

I saw the XM in person in SoCal last month about 3 weeks be it was “unveiled” and yeah, they only let a few people in at a time and there’s really no way to sneak a pic unless you wanted to be removed from the event and barred from future events. You enter through a metal detector, they don’t allow phones, hats, bags, purses or even Apple Watches… The XM also looks much better and beefier in person than it comes across in the photos BMW posted. I hated all the XM leaks but seeing it in person changed my opinion a little

It never was this close than this generation (leaving the weight argument out) that's the only way I can explain how used G8x are keeping such a great used value vs F series that at least in my area plummeted back to there 2020 prices.

Yes there is a % about supply and demand but just take the G83 for exemple, nothing equivalent comes close to it at its price point. The G8x value/performance/quality ratio is very very good.

I agree. BMW is very good at balancing/prioritizing those metrics.
