G42 LCI is April 2025. M cars typically follow the same LCI timeline that regular series cars do. I would caveat this by mentioning that BMW announced they have extended the lifecycle of ICE cars by a couple of years. In theory they could end up pushing LCI out by a year or even having two LCI changes, however unlikely that may seem. The short answer is no one knows.

My SA advised they’re expecting allocations late February/early March, with the release still in April.
As someone above suggested, this may be so they can build EU/Asian models (which have to travel further) before the US models. Has anyone heard about global allocations being released yet? |

In my opinion, that will be nearly impossible to accomplish if initial G87 allocations are received within that timeline. They will have to build them, prep them for shipping, load them, ship them, unload them, go thru the VPCs, and then ship them to U.S. BMW Centers all prior to the global launch in April. It is truly unrealistic. Last edited by T_U_D; 01-05-2023 at 12:26 PM.. |

The longer I wait the more I want to order a G80 to have alongside my G87. It's like the original M3 and M5 combo but I also really want individual paint.
I'm strongly considering buying an HEA car if I can reasonably do so. If not, moving my order to MY24. |

Full model year. The 2023 model year will be approximately six months in the U.S. Last edited by T_U_D; 01-05-2023 at 08:03 PM.. |

Get the 2023, get back in line for a 2024 allocation, drive the launch car while you wait, and sell for around what you paid when your second car lands. As long as you don't option your 2023 to $80k with a bunch of M Perf goodies, this is a reasonable plan. |

Right - I'd prefer to drive a launch car during that waiting period if it's at all possible, even if it means a small depreciation hit while waiting for a 2025. If you're actually hot on this model, there's no conceivable upgrade on the 2024+ cars worth passing up the opportunity to own a G87 12-18 months early. Especially since the same market dynamics that make it hard to get also protect your financial downside buying an early car.

I agree I don’t see how it is possible to take orders in February/March to receive in April. |
