Found out today my car arrives in Southampton about June 22nd. Any ideas how long from the docks to the dealer?

I found out today that my car could well be in Bremerhaven awaiting the recall work and the system will update when it departs to Southampton.

Could you confirm your current numerical status? What’s the source of your information. I’m at 165 and BMW genius told me I’m still on a boat to Bremerhaven

I'm still at 165 too and a 'Genius' told me earlier this week that the car was definitely still in Mexico despite a delivery date of next week The info came from my dealer - apparently the process is that Bremerhaven perform recall rectifications ahead of the cars being delivered to the dealer via Southampton.

I'm now tracking the recall on the BMW recall tracker to see when it clears itself.

Yes, the geniuses keep telling me I’m at 165, the car is “in the process of being transferred to our logistics partners for delivery”, and is not on a boat - but that it’ll still be delivered w/c 19/6!

A chat with the dealer tomorrow I think…

Dropped in to my dealer today. I’m still at 165, in transit from USA to Bremerhaven, delivery still due w/c 19/6.

BUT he said they were expecting their Zandvoort demo car in 2 weeks’ time ie 15/6, so we looked that car up in order to compare dates. It turns out it arrived in this country yesterday, but had been scheduled for delivery w/c 15/5 (ie pretty much a month before mine). So it’s running a month later than the system shows. Status was 190-195, but we didn’t open that section to see its specific number.

If mine’s also running a month behind, it won’t be here w/c 19/6!

Oh wow! I learned of someone else who was notified of a delayed delivery.

This prompted me to check mine - for the second time today and ...drum roll please..... I'm now 195 'at sea' to Southampton! BUT the airbag recall is still showing on my car so I really don't know what to believe. By a process of elimination I believe I'm on the HOEGH JACKSONVILLE that is due to arrive at 1am on 4th June....

Slightly leftfield question...

....I'm being told that it is BMW's policy to not release cars (e.g. for PPF) ahead of registration. This feels very weird to me as I know that Berry BMW in Chiswick provide the ability to get new cars PPF'd ahead of delivery. I have a week + between the car arriving the dealer and the UK launch when I take delivery so it'd be a great time to get the car protected so I can drive away on 17th fully PPF'd and enjoy the car....

Has anyone done this before and how did you achieve it please? e.g. paid in advance, signed a damage waiver, got permission from BMW, etc

Yep did that today - was at the PPF company and spoke to the dealer with the installer on the call. Apparently it's a BMW policy.....just doesn't make sense to me.

Because of some error with the configurator my original car has the wrong interior spec, will be here wk commencing the 19th June, I've now had Bmw GB instruct the dealer to let me have there car and they will have mine.

Just worked out that mines on the Horizon Highway

Supposed to get to Southampton by 26th June. Original delivery date was 18th June and now being told late July by dealer but early July by BMW chat ( ships already behind schedule)

Mine was stuck on 160 for around 6 weeks and was built in mid April

Least I can follow the ship every time I get a spare minute

Ive really gotta switch off

Mine was built beginning of April and as of Saturday finally went to 165, on the move at last. I've been told middle of July, but we'll wait and see.
