Stop Sale for Front Left Strut Tower

Mine is on its way to Baltimore. Has made a few stops along the way. Hopefully my dealership salesman will be able to tell me how long it took between the time the work order for the tower strut problem was issued to when the issue was resolved.

From the past few posts, it looks like they are working on the 3 Series at the VDC.
Going to call tomorrow and see if any update on my 2 Series.

My G87 came in 2 weeks ago. It had this stop sale for the front strut also. I got a call tonight from my Dealership and the part came in and will be able to take delivery of the car next week sometime. What a relief, but I’m glad that the car was fixed properly. I think the factory is working with the Dealerships, to get these recalls taken care of swiftly. I hope you guys have gotten your cars fixed or close to it. Enjoy your M2’s.

What part? I would ask your CA to try and get you details (as I think that would be a first). Oh, and to clarify, there is no recall.

Mine has also been at "Final Assembly" since July 3rd. I called BMW Genius, yesterday, and she told me that it was released to sales (I guess this is a subcategory within final assembly). She also said that each step of the process can take 1-3 weeks. I asked about the left strut tower issue, and she didn't seem to know about this.

Thoughts?

You need to get the information from your CA. That will be the most up to date and accurate information.

Released to sales is what shows up on My Garage as "Ready for Transport" (status 160). Typically about 3 weeks to get on a ship, but that can vary. See https://g87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...&postcount=304.

The car is Released to Sales AFTER Final Assembly when the car actually LEAVES the Factory. Ready for Transport is what you see when the car has been Released to Sales. Your Owners Manual will also become available on th App at this point.

Mine was showing final assembly on the tracker until yesterday (started showing that mid June, I try not to check daily so idk which day exactly). My CA shows it was at 160 (vehicle handover to sales) since 6/14. He mentioned it might have been effected by the strut tower issue but won't know until the vehicle arrives if it was.

Yeah, mine has been stuck at the VPC for a week now and still hasn't been cleared of the stop sale.
