+1 Billion - My dealer loaner/rental was loaded Mperformance Z4. 4cyl with full 3 litre brakes and chassis/suspension. It had every performance option it could have minus the 3 litre motor. I had total fun in this car for 4 months until the new M2 arrived.

Severely under-rated/under-appreciated. Its a fun sportscar that has amazing capability off the Autobahn and on it! I was a bit surprised how I felt when it was time to give it back. Top down or up as well. Nice choices and EXCELLENT performance from the 4cyl engine - 260PS mit ZF8 gearbox.

I agree the B48 is surprisingly good. I had one for a loaner while my 335i f30 was in the shop. the front turn in was way better and for daily driver i didn't notice a power difference until the higher rpm.

Just sucks that BMW / Toyota doesn't let the 4 bangers have all the options (brakes, dampers, etc) the 6-cylinder cars do.

smokingtire did a review video on the 230i a while back and preferred it to the m240xi on canyon roads. I can see why.

Joe is comparing CTR driving feel to GT3 & GT4 nice review can’t believe FL5 is wider than an M4

Crash/crumple safety standards means you just need ever more volume between passenger and the skin of the vehicle. Which is why every car keeps getting physically bigger even though the interior volume is much the same.

So yeah, cars just don't vary in size as much as they used to.

It's also why electric cars still must have frunks, for front crumple and pedestrian safety. Even the ID.Buzz has a nose, unlike the Microbus it pays homage to. No way a Microbus could pass modern safety standards.

Test drove the FL5 and was expecting it to change my life with the way some of these reviews and comparisons talk about it. Needless to say, it's fine car, but I wasn't overly impressed. Ended up with the Golf R instead, which IMO is a much tighter and more versatile package.

That said there is no world where I would even remotely consider the CTR over the M2.
