Oh wow, that seems like it could be a serious problem for a lot of orders. Those reps oversee entire regions. I’m shocked they don’t have someone else to cover that duty while the primary person is away.

Also keep in mind with the CDK hacking, they may not be able to see them even if they are available.

I have had a deposit on a 2025 since March. Last week my CA sent me the PDF pricing guide and told me to send her my build spec. She keyed that in and now we're waiting on BMW to accept the order and provide an allocation.

Talked to a BMW genius yesterday who told me that from what he can see, the entire east coast USA has something like half a dozen allocations at this point. He said they're looking like week 33-34 (August). I'm in CT and he said there are currently no allocations that he can see for the state.

The dealership I'm dealing with is a high-volume dealer and an M Certified dealer, which means they get more M allocations than smaller dealerships. We expect to get news of an allocation any day.

I don’t think the genius you spoke with knows how to utilize the locator properly.

If I search the entire east coast (eastern and southern regions) there’s 150, and 4 of those are in CT.

Thank you for that info. I'm meeting with him at the dealership on Friday and I will pass on your information. I think he may have just been talking about the Northeast, and as far as CT, he admitted there could be some allocations that he's not able to see. He gave me a reason, but I forget what it was.

If there are 4 in CT, they must be at other dealerships since I am #1 on the list at the one I'm dealing with.

Do you guys know what the CDK system is? If not, I suggest googling it. BMW NA runs off it. They are extremely limited to what they know or can see as to cars, parts, names, dates, figures, etc. It is also affecting tens of thousands of dealerships. The affected dealerships are either doing what they can via pen and paper or flat out turning people away (service and parts are at a standstill for many). Some will be honest, some will give bull sh!t responses.

They hope to be almost to fully up and running by the weekend but no guarantees whatsoever.

CDK does not affect the BMW NA ordering system (S-gate).

My understanding is that the CDK software is used primarily for accounting, desking, payroll, onboarding, and other financial based things of that nature.

My dealer doesn’t use CDK at all (we use Reynolds) and have been completely unaffected.

If the BMW NA ordering system was affected, I’m pretty certain that no dealer would have access to those tools, but we do have access just like normal.

I’m not saying BMW NA isn’t affected by the CDK breach in some way, but if we’re talking about the ordering system specifically, then no I don’t believe that to be true.
