Gotta say- being 56 years old and driving Tesla Model S's since 2012 (over 250k miles and love them) I really started missing noise on my daily and decided electrics will be around for a long time, but V-8's and V-6's or gasoline altogether probably not. I decided to go small, fast, fun and something I'll make growl- and ordered an M2. Sales guy says I'll have my allocation by next month and I still have time to change my spec (Skyscraper Grey with Silver wheels) nothing to attract much attention- I am 56 and ordering a car I am sure BMW is targeting for males half my age (in my mind, I was that only a few years ago, sigh)

Anyhow, I think the M2 looks pretty awesome in black but, I've made that mistake too many times in the past (broken promises to myself I would wash every weekend that I break after 3 weeks- I hate washing cars) and car washes trash their finish with swirls all too soon. Nope, Silver or Gray and I am good.

Then I stumble into this thread and see the video of the M4 wearing the Java Green and another in the purple. OMG!! Saw the colors on the configurator and didn't give it a second look- but, on the real deal- wow! The 20 or 30 year old me would call my sales guy now (it's midnight) and demand him to switch me to the Java or maybe the Purple right this damn minute. The 56 year old me wants to call the two SOB's here who posted those pics and video and have filled me with internal conflict. If this were just for my weekender (I have my C8 Convertible for that) I think I could convince myself to go for the Java..possibly even the Twilight Purple. But, this is intended for my daily- at least for a little while. Maybe it's just me but, in my 20's I wanted the attention and now in my 50's I don't want any. Those two colors shout to be looked at- I sure would.

LOVE IT!!!

I will be 48 this year and also drive a Tesla (Model 3) but I am going Purple. Have had “conservative” colors all my life. For me, its time for a change.

Also I feel you with black cars. My Model 3 is black….ugh!!!

Hoping to get in today and drop off the CTR as a pre-trade and place my order for the M2 Fairly basic spec. Comfort seats over buckets since I have a fixed back bucket in my S2000

Here is my planned build and will probably add MP HAS

Agreed. There are enough boring white, black, grey cars out there. They all just blend in with one another. The M2 is a great-looking performance coupe, it should be in a eye-catching color.

I'm 61.

I own an i4 M50 is Tanzanite II with tartufo interior. My M2 will be Twilight Purple with the carbon package and bi-color wheels.

The white vehicle I own is a S1000RR M package.

Life is too short to be boring.

Still struggling with first world car problems (trying to decide exactly what car I want next, and if I want to give up my 2009 C6 Z06), but I was 100% sold on Twilight Purple until I saw some videos of Java Green.

I don't suspect you'll see many Java Green M2s out in the wild, but the color is stunning. Still a struggle between the two colors!

IMO its a shame there's no black caliper option for those picking a green exterior color.

Yeah, Java green is so unique. I do like it alot but I don’t think I can rock it everyday. If I saw one on the road, I would def take notice and say “that’s a nice color”.

Good for you that you are already committed to one of the two. I am nearly at the point to move off the Skyscraper and go for one of them. The way I see that choice, they are both beautiful colors and should look fantastic on the M2 but, that Java just looks Special. I am definitely going with the Java if I can convince myself to put that much color and pop on my daily. I also, think the carbon roof will pop more on the Java. Man....I am getting real close, I think one more night sleeping on it and there will be a Java Green heading to Charlotte.

I spec’d my order with the standard blue calipers and all silver wheels, but playing with the M Visualizer has me thinking of switching to red calipers instead. I don’t always like the idea of having multiple shades of the same color (darker blue standard calipers with a medium blue exterior paint). I think it may be better to have contrast with the red, or get the calipers paint matched in Voodoo like I did with my last Shelby.

I also plan to go with either BBS or Apex aftermarket wheels pretty quickly but want to stay with silver. I’m getting pretty tired of all black wheels on everything I see.

Maybe I've been thinking about it all wrong. I've always thought of my C8 as my weekender and the upcoming M2 as my daily. Maybe since I already have my "boring" grey on the Vette I should just go for the Java Green on the M2 and drive either one whenever the hell I am in the mood!

Just my opinion, but ABSOLUTELY go for the red calipers on the Voodoo. They will pop and look great and two different blues will mismatch and look like someone used the wrong paint color on the calipers.

I definitely support the move away from Skyscraper (personally).

I've had way too many black cars in a row, and while I still absolutely love black cars, I'm getting tired of how hard it is to keep clean, and also just need a change.

I've never been a silver/gray car guy though, so take my opinion with a grain of salt.

Yeah Java green looks amazing but there are similarly colored Dodges and Jeeps out there. I could see myself getting sick of it after a while but then again my M2 is BG(boring grey) so I often default to a grey but I have some brightly colored blue vehicles so I think I could do Voodoo longer term.

I would have a tough time deciding on these new colors

There is a Java Green near me that elicits that exact response from me and my wife. We both agreed we wouldn’t want it as a color though.
