Great experience. Got 6% off MSRP (with the help of a broker), and a great trade-in value for my 2019 VW Golf R (which I also purchased from this dealer 5 years ago, and had a great experience). Way better than the two local KC BMW dealers, imo.

Picked up from PPF today. I'll have more better photos once the roads clear up and I get the spacers and other stuff on.

Hell of a price, did you talk with Riley on what they would’ve done for an order/allocation, most of them here including Topeka will rarely go below 1k off msrp on ordered units for some reason

Yeah, they were quoting MSRP for an order. I didn't press them too hard on that, since they had the M2 on the lot that ticked most of my boxes.

I will definitely work with them again for my next BMW purchase.

Oh man does the M2 in Skyscraper Gray with the silver wheels look good. So good it really has me thinking about ordering one and selling my BSM '24 M240i that has only 4K miles. How is that for a first world problem?

I traded my 11 month old '22 M240 for a '23 M2. Now have a '25 M2.

No one will fault you 🤣

Bringing this thread back to the top. Don't have good pics. Just a couple of preview pics the dealer sent. Heading over to Houston to pick her up 18 Jan.

We will see if the 4x4 look improves with spacers. Also planning on paint matched MP spoiler

Picked her up today. Smooth process. Taped her up for the 200mile drive home. Varied the speed and rpms, shifting from 3rd through 7th throughout the journey so I think I am in good standing as far as break in.

No idea why some are sideways....

Can’t wait for the cold weather to break so I can get this beast back out on the roads. Took delivery of it in October here in Ohio and parked it for the winter with only 500 miles on it!

I’d love your R and G87 feedback. I’m sadly passing on the G87 this round and buying a 25 Golf R. This will be my daily and cross country GT car. Hopefully I’ll also take it to HPDE for the first time. Congrats.

This picture is just about the best example of how SSG accentuates the M2 shape so nicely.

I loved my Mk 7.5 Golf R. So fun to drive and push to its limits. I had a Stage 1 ECU/TCU software-only tune on it, and was pushing about 360HP at the crank on 91 octane, so it was really quick. Front biased AWD of course, so it was very controlled, which isn't a bad thing, but I was also looking for some RWD excitement, which eventually led me to the G87.

I just had my 1200 mile break-in service done a week and a half ago, so am now able to open it up, but it's been so damn cold and nasty here that I really haven't had the chance to. The little bit that I've been able to get on it in a straight line, I can feel all the extra horsepower the G87 gives me over the Golf R, especially at higher RPMs. But, the G87 doesn't feel as nimble as the Golf R did, just due to the size/weight difference. Looking forward to warm weather so I can enjoy the G87 in the twists and turns, and make a fair comparison to the Golf R.

Hope this is helpful. Would love to hear how the new trick torque vectoring diff in the Mk 8.5 Golf R works out! I considered going for a Mk 8.5 for a bit, but my lust for more power led me down the G87 path. I also had the new Audi RS3 on my short list, but those weren't available yet.

Thanks!. I’m guessing in 4-5 years I’ll give the vw to a son and buy a g87 xdrive.

I’ve got a similar drive to look forward to in about 2 months. Did you just pull up to the dealer… and start taping the hell outta the car? I hadn’t thought about that.

Any consideration taken on the oil cooler protection for the drive, or no?

I asked the dealer for some space and used 3 inch painter's tape. Overlapped 50% with each stripe... I have done the same for other purchases in Dallas. Works well and comes off easy.

I didn’t do any cooler protection. Just gave plenty of following distance and was very vigilant for debris in the road.

I placed it in S1 transmission mode and manually shifted between 4th and 7th every few minutes to vary the load/rpms. I also did intermittent sub-5k half throttle runs followed by engine braking (letting off the gas and letting the car slow down). I think this is a reasonably good way to stay within the break-in guidance.

SSG is so dynamic. You can see silver my car looks in this pic vs some of the other folks pics where it looks more gray.

Edit: no idea why it is sideways and I don’t know how to fix it.

In the handover bay ready to be picked up tomorrow. Looks like I won the tyre lottery as well.

(ordered Oct 19th, so a 3 month wait).
