Why would you have to wait until 2025? If they aren't pushing through orders for MY23 with buckets, won't we still be able to get the buckets so long as we don't get an August build date?

I have a 2023 build and was told buckets aren’t available any longer for my build. I was also told no 2024 M2 is available for buckets for the foreseeable future per manufacturing per my CA. Obviously there’s a lot of info and opinions floating around here that it’s just the month of august, but my CA told me it’s for the entirety of model year 2024.

I think nobody can say this definitively. Your CA wants to sell you a car asap. No sales, no commissions.

That being said, I skipped buckets because of the uncertainty on availability.

I agree there is no definitive answer. But he’s quite reasonable and offered to push to 2024 build without buckets and honor 2023 price.

I just swung by the dealer because my CA is on vacation to see what the latest was. I am still sitting at status 105 with a 2023 allocation (April allocation) w/ carbon buckets. Is there still a chance that this will get built as 2023 or is it inevitably going to convert to 2024 - or is that anyone’s guess? I asked the CA that was covering for mine, but he was new and had no idea. I’m trying to determine if I should just remove the buckets, or if there is still a shot here.

Murphy’s Law says the day your order is permanently changed, carbon buckets will be available in the system within 24 hours.

Production spreadsheet updated

Getting quite a database now. One issue is the website and even the Genius lag significantly from actual. So data that comes from them differs from that the CA can get. All in all no big deal.

Currently at 160. Production completed 7/14. Now the question is do I make the 8/3 ship? Hope so!

Time to ship departure is running 11-18 days. And if you got that date from the website, it lags so you completion was likely sooner. Close, but you should make it.

I finished production on 7/3 (CA sent VR to show) but still in Final assembly on the consumer site.
I think I’ll get on a July ship.

Has anyone seen their status go from final assembly to in transit, skipping ready for transport?

As far as your question, I would think your CA or genius could confirm your car was shipped by now if it made the 7/12 boat.

Lol you DEFINITELY will be able to spec a 2024 with buckets, probably within a couple of months at the latest. They just want to be done with you.

I couldn't spec mine for 2 months either, I just waited for the next allocation they were available. It will be the same situation here. Some months they will be open, some not. Worst case scenario you have to wait a few months. There is a 0% chance BMW is going to advertise the carbon pack, and within a few months you can't get them for an entire model year?? That would make absolutely no sense. Their flagship M cars all feature these seats. They're not gonna suddenly stop making them for an entire year. Don't let your CA that seemingly could care less steer you away from them if you're set on the seats. I personally wouldn't have bought the car without them.
