But your F Pace is missing a battery compared to the M5.

An alternative take is the G90 weighs 52 lbs more than the Lucid Air Sapphire, which has a positively massive (and heavy) 118kWh battery, which allows it to have a 427 mile range despite having nearly double the power (1,234 hp) of the M5.

I was looking at the specs for the Canadian MY25 M440i Coupe and it lists specific exhaust info in the standard specs. This is the info with the option code at the beginning,

1D1 Exhaust technology SULEV30
5AL Active Protection
PMTECHN.

When i did a google search it lists this as being some kind of exhaust particulate filter,

https://www.avl.com/documents/10138/...0_Solution.pdf

Does this mean that the new B58 TU engine for the US and Canada is now getting the exhaust particulate filter that Europe has had for quite a while now?

I plan on ordering a new M340i this year so i am interested in knowing if the MY25 will come with the particulate filter. All the reviews i have read mention that it ruins the exhaust sound.

Here is the Canadian ordering guide with the info if anyone is interested.

The top post now lists all planned versions of G45. The most notable part is what it doesn't include: there will be no 30x outside North America, or any diesel larger than 20d. BMW will likely push the hybrid as the sweet spot for Europe.

so.....the L6 diesel is phasing out officially. I'm expecting not to see a 330d or M340d again on the upcoming G50.

ynguldyn I’m now reading that the g87 LCI will happen in calendar year 2026. Is that what you’re seeing also? This would mean the M2 CS will not be based on the LCI.

Seems odd to have the M2 LCI a year after the 2 series LCI.

This is complicated.

First of all, the situation with G42/G87 proves that I should revisit previously posted information more often because what I'm seeing right now is not at all what it appeared before. In detail:

- Non-US, non-China M240i RWD will soon be dead (summer EOP)
- There are hints that the old B58 will not be US emissions compliant for MY2027, so US M240i could be dead at the end of MY2026 (I'm not seeing B58M2 in G42 anywhere - yet?)
- Now, it would be logical to suggest at this point that MY2027 will be the LCI year, however, the EOP dates for other models extend way beyond that. US 230i goes to the end of calendar 2027. All other models, including G87 - to 2029.
- At the same time, I do see a few unknown future models of G42.

What this means: it is certain that there will be no LCI in 2025. However, there's no strong evidence of LCI in 2026 or at any other time either.

If I am reading your info properly, there is no G45 hybrid option for USA.

Not that odd if you compare it to the G80/2; M3 CS and M4 CSL both were released before LCI.

Only exception is the i5 M60 which has about 9.5% more hp vs the i4 M50 (same motor different "tuning"). OP has already posted this information in the first page.
Do you know if it is possible to tune the i4 as well? I have an i4 40e but don't like the speedlimeter on 190 km/h (for German highways).

Ynguldyn,

Hoping you can help.. I am at the verge of buying an M2.. I am in 2 minds to wait for MY 2025 or not.. the answer to following 2 questions will help me decide.

To my understanding, MY2025 will see an increase of 20Hp and 50nm of torque for automatic.

1. Will the rpms figures for hp and NM stay the same as MY2024 for automatic transmission? For current G87,

Peak torque comes in at 2,650 rpm and lasts until 5,870 rpm.
Peak power comes in almost immediately after, at 6,250 rpm and it has a 7,200 rpm redline.

Are you able to confirm if the peak torque and power output for MY 2025 will continue to happen at the same rpms as MY 2024?

2. are the 0-60 times any different?

Thank you so much!

I'm sorry but do you really think about all these numbers when driving?

You will notice the interior changes more than anything else.

Didn’t want to have buyers remorse, if the torque was gonna be offered at much lower rpms as that would translate to a better daily for my use case. That’s all.

Regarding the interior — it’s getting idrive 8.5. I don’t think I would notice that difference too much. Unless it were getting new flat-bottomed steering wheel as M4 LCI or changing the gear shifter from traditional looking to a stub (yikes!!), in which case I will book the MY2024.

Thanks

After you buy yourself a new car, there's always a newer and better model that comes later.
