I just crawled under the covers on the couch. I already braved the frigid temps to go downstairs to find some socks, a fucking miracle I didn't get frostbite venturing up and down in these temps. It's 56 degrees, lol. |

Wacky. Been a cold winter with some absurd bouts of warm days tossed in. Went from 20's last weekend to 60's and is going back to the 20's again.

The lowest temp ever recorded in my area, was 31°F in 2009. Tonight, it's supposed to be 26°F

Our current situation... It only takes a hint of freezing these days and the Schools and other Public places close down like today.

Tuesday was cold and windy, Wednesday was gorgeous, mid 60's, sun was out and a slight breeze, the first sign of spring, and now its back to cold and windy in the 30's. Maryland weather never ceases to amaze me in how bipolar it is.

The NWS dropped the Winter Storm Watch here, and replaced it with a Winter Weather Advisory for 3-6 inches of snow/sleet overnight and into tomorrow.
Meanwhile, the scarecasters have managed to empty the store shelves with panic pre-storm buying. They also sold a gazillion extra overpriced TV commercials for the extended ongoing storm coverage as feet of snow pile up.....

As I was leaving at 6:00 it was 39, feels like 33. WTF. 33 is like ZERO in Canadian??
It was beautiful though, light was in the east, half a moon in the west. 54 and sunny now. |

Right now it's 53F for me and sunny. Very similar for us even though you're by the coast and I'm in the Inland Empire.

The big storm here turned into a dud. Some sleet collected and made the roads slick for a bit, but that was it. Not that I'm complaining.

Normally there's no issues. Only after the alcohol starts flowing. It's the beach, people generally don't come to the beach to be in a bad mood. I do have a humorous story to tell. Last warm spell we had about a week ago, was headed back inside from the water and I saw a bonfire right there tucked away few houses down. I went over and there's 10 people around a giant bonfire - in between two homes and their surrounding bushes, probably to block some of the wind. Everyone's telling them they can't have fires on the beach but zero fucks are given. I even tried explaining to them the lifeguard station will see the fire in about 10 minutes as soon as the sun goes down. 15 minutes later, I hear the brigade of fire trucks. They take that shit seriously around here, lol. There have been homes and even worse, protected wildlife burn down because sparks carry over from the wind. Anyways, fat ticket. I think it's $900-$1000, police come out as well so not a good time is had. Shoulda listened. |

We had about 2" of snow overnight before it changed over to sleet. The temperature has been holding steady at 23 F since last night, and I still hear some light sleet hitting the windows despite the radar showing that the precipitation should be over.....
