YES!

Problem is... it doesn't seem to be available in North America! Which doesn't make sense to me, because it's so much better than the current version.

Usually there is a few month delay between the EU and the US release. I think they are going to release it in October or November.
By the way the 19,5 is the net capacity, the gross is 22,3.
I start to regret my order of an i4 this March. I did not want to order a PHEV because of the small battery, but they almost doubled the capacity once again. The F30 330e had net 5,7, which I own at the moment and they replaced the whole battery pack under warranty a few month ago because the battery died (too many charging cycles kills the battery) so I had concerns ordering another PHEV.

Does the M550 in the US for 2020 will get the new 535hp engine?

Thats the opposite of a future model. But it did get the updated TU3 engine.

I guess Horatiu from BMW Blog shooting down this story (S58 in the Z4 final run) by Auto Motor & Sport is enough, but do you have any comments on this? https://www.bmwblog.com/2024/05/31/n...ngine-planned/

Unfortunate, but not surprising. Honestly, the car can have trouble putting down the power with the B58 (I own a 2023 M40i) off the line.

He's obviously right. I'm surprised there were still people holding out hope.

on the x7, I was hoping for a PHEV version.

Models will include X7 40, 40d, M60, Alpina 60, iX7 50, 60, M70, Alpina 100 (all xDrive).

Alpina 100, hmm.

I like the XB7, B5, B7 etc naming scheme but I'm not sure about Alpina then 2 or 3 random numbers, it makes them sound like a model a few steps above the normal BMWs, not a completely different product.

Of course with the change in ownership, I guess that is to be expected

Finally we get to see what BMW plans to do with ALPINA but ALPINA 100 ?
I don't know how powerful it will be but at this point they should just call it iX7 ALPINA as a special flagship model and that's it.
I guess ALPINA will be as an exclusive trim for the 7 series and X7 only.

Where else on the internet can we find this quality of early information about upcoming Audi and Mercedes models ?

G60 i5 edrive 40i is already ending production in February?? Are sales so bad that they’re bagging it altogether? That’s less than two total years of production and I feel like they made a lot of design sacrifices specifically so that they could accomodate the battery for the EV version.

This doesn't mean that all i5 models are gone. At first I thought this referred to the naming scheme change where the "eDrive 40" nomenclature would disappear. Or maybe the sales of the xDrive40 are so much better that it's not worth importing the eDrive40. Personally, I think the eDrive40 is the one to get for price and handling reasons.

Am I reading this right that we don’t see a PHEV in plans for the next gen x7? Or we won’t see a pure ICE, plug-in is the only ice option?

Most or even all FWD ones. Not clear yet how deep this will cut into the bigger cars.

Has the F70 SOP been postponed to 11/24?
Also, the M5 G90 seems to have a later SOP than 07/24 aswell. BMW told me something around 10/24, but they were not sure.

Market intro follows SOP by a period decided by marketing wizards on a case by case basis.

Does anyone know about X4? based on the info, X4 production ends on 11/25, that means we will see 2026 X4(G02)?

Believe the consensus is no X4 counterpart to the G45 X3 - only an iX4 on the NK platform.
