Listed on my build sheet as ZC9 for $775.
Told CA to add HAS but not on build sheet yet. Maybe it’s added later. Probably plenty of time to sort it out.

ZC9 is an accessory on mine that is port installed so guessing yours will get moved over too lol. It's all semantics really I was just curious.

The spoiler should be shown at the bottom and amount as accessories total, those will be port installed. Your CA may need to contact NA and speak to distribution manager to have the HAS added.

It is shown at the bottom as you indicate. When speaking to my CA earlier, he had never heard of HAS. Hard to believe I’m the first to order it. Thank you

Maybe it's just the acronym he's not familiar with? Either spell it out or refer to it as the sport suspension / Z58?

Got my production number yesterday. I don’t have any additional details yet beyond it being a MY24. It has the Carbon Package and I asked to have HAS added.

All set. No issues adding HAS to the order. Now I go back to patiently waiting.

The HAS is $2,820??? That's criminal even with install included... I thought that was the coilover price. KW V3's are $3000...

The KW HAS is identical (M-perf one is literally rebranded KW), and is ~$1000 through most vendors... I would just go that route. Will save around $1500 after paying for install, and have the exact same product in the end.

Everyone has different needs/wants. I know the KW set is cheaper. I don’t want to modify after the fact. It’s worth it to me.

Not criminal at all to some of us. Includes full factory warranty, proper alignment, visibility on invoice, amongst other advantages.

Yup to be considered oem and fully warrantied by BMW as part of the car is worth the extra few bucks to some.

I guess so... $2000 just seems like a lot for 2-3 hour install, a $120 alignment, and a line item on your build. Warranty on a metal spring is kinda negligible.

To each their own!!

I read or heard (not sure-senior moment) somewhere that from beginning to end including alignment the process is about 8 hours.
I’ve been wrong once or twice over the past 6 decades. Maybe thrice.

For me, personally, the OEM HAS has many benefits.
  • I don’t have to take time off work and go to a shop for install
  • I don’t have to store the stock suspension in my small, cramped garage
  • In the unlikely event I do have any issue, I can go to any dealer for warranty service
  • In the unlikely event I have some other suspension related issue I don’t have to worry about the dealership blaming it on my “aftermarket mods”
  • When it comes time to sell the car I don’t have to take time off work and pay a shop put the stock suspension back on
  • I don’t have to deal with trying to sell the used KW set when I sell the car

These are not benefits for everyone and understand that. For many people the KW set is the better choice for sure. You can do a lot with the money you save and since it’s the same exact parts there’s no difference in performance.

It’s uncommon that you can get the same exact parts as OEM directly from the manufacturer at a lower cost and I’m glad this information is out there so people are aware of the option. If only the rest of the MPP catalogue was the same…

Fair points. However this last one is very untrue.

Here's the OEM M-performance HAS kit, from a BMW service department, for $1399. They are this price from dozens of BMW service departments.

I think I may not have worded that part of my post well. Your original point was that you can buy the KW set for less money than the MP HAS and get the exact same thing. My point was that (at least to my knowledge) that isn’t true for other MP parts.

For example, is the carbon fiber spoiler made by Company X and does Company X sell the exact same part themselves under their own brand for less than the MP part? I’m genuinely asking because the HAS is the only thing I’ve seen people talk about where this is the case.

You are good. To some (many?), paying extra for port installation and full 4 year warranty is worth the extra money. Yes, its on my build.

To others, saving the cash for aftermarket install or diy is their best option.

No right or wrong here, just a business decision.

The other issue to note, yes, the M Perf HAS can be purchased from different sources for less than the M Performance site. However, buying the (non M Performance) KW HAS from a third-party vendor is not the same part as the M Performance HAS (made by KW but from a separate division).

Plus it’s fun hanging out with friends, listening to good music and adding mods to your car.

But I totally get the warranty stuff lol
