I wouldn’t be so sure. From this forum, the July allocation drop was huge. I got one on July 27 and my status barely changed to 112 yesterday. I was build week 35 then 41 and now 38. Unless bmw decides to have more allocation in the pipeline, I don’t see why they would continue to drop more. I was told to expect my car in November.

^^^ This. I got mine on July 29 (I guess my dealer was a bit slow in reaching out) and I'm still in status 111, nearly a month later for a week 40 target build date.

I think BMW wanted a large enough allocation drop, so they could get a good sense of the longer term run rate for each option. But it will take them a while to produce all those orders. They did pump up a lot of cars in July though - I hope it continues to ramp.

I have updated the spreadsheet and added total days from allocation to arrival at the dealer, which I think is a key stat. You can see it has gone down on average from early May allocations on.

My M2 finally moved back to Schedule For Production. It was originally Scheduled For Production on 7/29 when I placed my order and then in August it changed to Order Received. Genius quoted me a Week 35 build week. My CA said there may have been a 1 week delay. Happy to see it moving back into production ahead of Week 35. Hoping it’s smooth sailing from here.

Edit: Seems like the rumor about the plants being shutdown during August may have been true. The tracking doesn’t show many updates for any M2s ordered at the end of July.

What about all the members that reported their cars entering and completing production during August?

And by plants, do you mean the SLP Mexico plant?

With the amount of production tracking I have done, the plant shut down, if any at all, was very short. I recall one month (a couple months ago) that didn't get any allocations, but I have consistently seen cars come in and out of status 150 the entire year. I dont recall seeing any significant delay between MY 23 and MY 24 production.

My order got pushed back from week 40 target to week 42. Still in 111 order received. Disappointing. (carbon roof, but no carbon seats)

My order was scheduled for production in week 36-37 but checked today and it moved back to order received. I have the carbon pack. I don’t mind getting pushed back because I hope the frozen colors become available to be able switch to.

After being scheduled for production week 27, then 40, then 34, then 35, then 36 (as of this morning), now I'm now back to "order received" AGAIN with week 40.

I wonder if they are pushing things back at the factory because they are making them faster than they can ship them out? I would think they have more than enough storage space but who knows at this point. Going by this forum, I don't think any cars have left the ports in Mexico for 20ish days.

Your guess is as good as mine. I'm assuming it has something to do with the Carbon Pack since it seems that other folks without the packs are going into production on / ahead of schedule whereas those of us with the carbon are being rescheduled repeatedly.

That's ridiculous, makes zero sense why you would have been bumped so much when other carbon pack builds have been getting through

Based on my experience + bean_'s May allocation getting pushed to January/February, it's looking like they've thrown all allocations into a roulette wheel and just let it ride each week.

Found out today that mine was actually an April allocation too. Dealer still told me it’s because of the seats but avoided my question on why other people after me are not having problems. Seems they have no idea.
