Steering airbag removal

Sorry if this sounds stupid, but can I pop out the steering airbag safely without disconnecting the wires? I wont touch them, just nees to check the inside as there is some vibration going on and its too faint so dealer says its fine (obviously), its not horrible and not very noticrable over radio but my OCD knows its there. It stops when I push down on airbag so its something in there.

Or do I need to disconnect battery either way as long as I work in the area?

Thanks!

So WHY are YOU wanting to remove the airbag?

because on some roads there is a vibration coming from the airbag area. Dealer says nothing is wrong so I want to check. I have fixed some things on my car myself and im fine with it, maybe its the inside wires toching something not sure. But when I hear the noise and hold the airbag with my hand firmly, it stops.

So take a service tech for a ride on that road for them to hear/see it. You f*ck with the airbag, get into a wreck and it not deploy, you are screwed in more ways than one.

Hey, its your car and your life, do whatever you want.

Removing the airbag is very simple. I wouldn't recommend taking a drive with it popped out, however. Here's what it looks like behind the airbag, not a whole lot to be vibrating back there.

*I recommend disconnecting the negative battery cable (10mm) and letting it sit for about 10 min before popping the airbag out. I use a #5 allen wrench to pop it out.

Thank you, no i wouldnt risk driving it detached or tampered with.
Its just something buzzing on the top half of the airbag area, maybe one of those cables or the acrual airbag cable touching something. Thanks again for the pic, ill dc the battery if i decide to open.
