Mild throttle 2000rpm 50-65kph sharp whining noise

Hello everyone.
My G87 M2 has this extremely mild whining noise (almost sounds like an EV car) when it's at around 60kph in D and I'm giving mild throttle input. The noise will disappear if I go faster or downshift or simply press the gas pedal harder. Also it can only be heard with windows closed. I also noticed that the noise appears when the boost gauge started to show a lil bit movement in the cluster. I'm wondering if this is normal? Or if there's anything potential failure I should keep my eyes on?

Removing the charcoal filter and installing BMC filter doesn't really change the whistle noise level. I was also assuming it's exhaust leak from 2nd resonators delete with xpipe but turns out there's no leak at all.

I hope you guys can leave your opinions. It's barely even noticeable in the video but that's literally how low the volume of this whining noise is.

Oddly I haven't been able to hear it on my g87. But It does sounds like the turbo, my E90 N55's turbo has the exact behavior you describe.

Another thing you can maybe do to confirm is: put the turbo boost meter on the center display and see if it tracks.

The noise actually appears as soon as that gauge moves a lil bit. Like even by few pixels.

Yeah, that tracks, the turbine has to spool before the pressure can build.

I would have felt more comfortable if you had stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night....

Quick update guys. I noticed the whine is consistent when I'm turning the cruise control on 60-70kph as well as mild acceleration. Is it possible the whine is coming from differential?
