Mild throttle 2000rpm 50-65kph sharp whining noise
Hello everyone.
My G87 M2 has this extremely mild whining noise (almost sounds like an EV car) when it's at around 60kph in D and I'm giving mild throttle input. The noise will disappear if I go faster or downshift or simply press the gas pedal harder. Also it can only be heard with windows closed. I also noticed that the noise appears when the boost gauge started to show a lil bit movement in the cluster. I'm wondering if this is normal? Or if there's anything potential failure I should keep my eyes on? Removing the charcoal filter and installing BMC filter doesn't really change the whistle noise level. I was also assuming it's exhaust leak from 2nd resonators delete with xpipe but turns out there's no leak at all. https://youtube.com/shorts/NPtiP5aDb...5kCWsSVZNhItN6 I hope you guys can leave your opinions. It's barely even noticeable in the video but that's literally how low the volume of this whining noise is. |

Oddly I haven't been able to hear it on my g87. But It does sounds like the turbo, my E90 N55's turbo has the exact behavior you describe.

Quick update guys. I noticed the whine is consistent when I'm turning the cruise control on 60-70kph as well as mild acceleration. Is it possible the whine is coming from differential?
