This is a compiled list of currently known future G87 models. It will get updated periodically as new information becomes available.

• M2 CS starts production August 2025

  *New [May 22nd, 2025] G87 M2 CS: Confirmed price, specifications and everything else you wanted to know!.

• G87 M2 M xDrive will have a three year production run from August 2026 through July 2029.

  *New [July 7th, 2025] G87 M2 M xDrive rated at 475hp.

  *New G87 M2 M xDrive production dates confirmed. Production begins August 2026

  [Aug 9th, 2024] G87 M2 M xDrive is Confirmed
  

  Note: Unclear if there will be another LCI since BMW has designated model year 2025 G87 as an LCI.

I don't care much about the extra HP (it's already way too fast for 99% of my driving) but I'm top of the list at my dealer and will happily pass up the next few allocations so I can get one in Voodoo Blue!

They have an obsession with grey/gray on the G87. Dpnt get me wrong, I like my BG and would also be very happy with GT, but how many different shades of one color do we need.

Too fast? Do you mean based on the conditions you drive in or you just wouldn't want any more power under your foot?

Shit, this and just this! I LOVE blue cars but I’m not sure I love Zandvoort blue.

I’m closer to pulling the trigger on a MY24, but the color options would be really nice

Almost certain there won’t be a manual combined with xDrive, as it isn’t offered on any other BMW CLAR platform at the moment. Only RWD M2/3/4 and the Z4 and the FWD lower powered 1 & 2 Series have manual transmissions available now, it is likely that the next generation of each series won’t offer any manual transmissions at all.

Having more power is never a bad thing. But, if I had a 9" dick and a genie granted me an extra centimeter, I doubt it would really improve anything for me or my wife.

For people chasing lap times, I'm sure the extra HP will be appreciated, but I'm using this car as a daily. Like a 9" wiener, it's already absurdly powerful and will deliver plenty of thrills.

Going by the normal pattern, besides wheels and colours, unlikely until the LCI model for 2026 or 2027 MY.

Makes sense considering earlier reports that they are killing all base models and leaving only competition models. With the manual M4 gone, it leaves the space for the M2 to fill in.

Agree with this. The supra I had was already more than fast enough on the road... Even on the track I wasn't experienced enough to take full advantage of the power (I'm working on it). The extra power will probably not be too noticeable but in the long run not a bad thing, though probably more just a measuring contest.

I have an order in production with a VIN for a 2024 in Brooklyn Gray 6Mt but seriously considering passing on it and getting a 2025 in Skyscraper. Love that color on the G80 with black wheels, lip, side skirts, etc. I don’t care about the HP bump.

Too many M3s in SPY (my opinion only). Car would look great in Daytona Violet Metallic if that were the purple.

This is what I'm counting on lol. No temptation to "upgrade" my current 6MT.

If they did somehow released the CS in 6MT, i'd almost certainly HAVE to buy it
