Okay, I'm going to chime in.

If you have the M Driver's Package or not is relavent.

With the Driver's Package; Y rated tires would be required for a top speed of 180ish. While without a Z or W rating would be okay.

Got my car on 12-28-2024, came with Yokos. Built on the week of 11/04/2024. It’s been cold and wet in Northern California so any semi hard throttle in first or second gear breaks them loose.

Don't really have a comparison point, but noticed that the Pirellis lose a ton of grip when the tires are a bit colder (70-80 F tire temps). This is probably true for all tires but I was just a bit surprised by how much grip I lost -- ABS started kicking in when I punched it to 50% throttle in 2nd gear

No i did not. Do they apply different tires to those cars since the top speed increases? Or the idea that you will be tracking?

That's what I'm trying to figure out.

What's the rating on the tires they installed?

All Star OEM tires are Y rated (186+ mph):

https://www.tirerack.com/tires/TireS...erformance=ALL

Hmm, the paste didn't include OEM filter, hit that box to see the Star tires.

Looks like Yokohamas are not technically Star, but they are Y rated also.

They don’t actually list the OEM Yokohama tires on there list.I guess it must be a mistake on there website. The actual Yokohama tire for the G87 is the ADVAN Sport V107 and it is a BMW star rated tire. Its shown on the sidewall of the tire.

Cool, yeah I thought it would have been a bit unusual that it wasn't.

Thanks for clarifying.

I learned something interesting in the meantime also, there is a Y and also a (Y) rating. The Y is rated for 186mph, while the (Y) is 186mph+. So for example the rating will say (100Y) or 99Y. All of the star appear to be of the (Y) variety.

I'm breaking this in aggressively and it RIPS
I believe M Motorsport team would know best about how or what is REQUIRED when breaking the car in and that why I will be following break in instructions in the manual.

Sad that people think they know better than the manufacture because they saw something on you tube.
