G87 M2 VS F87 M2c DRAG RACE

So recently the team got the chance to race the shop M2's head to head!

Dylan, (our Head of content) recently got himself a lovely specc'd M2c and with us recently getting his hands on the G87 piloted by Rhys himself, we thought it would be a great opportunity to team up with our friend Archie Hamilton and get the cars side by side down the drag strip.

*DISCLAIMER*

For this race we wanted to make it hard for the S58 powered machine, it is one really power car (dyno results coming soon) but in short the M2c was running an AC Schnitzer tuning box.

Let us know what cars you'd want to see race next!

Kind of an odd video. I was hoping for an apples to apples comparison. Looks like neither car really used launch control either, I think if that were the case, the G87 would be a clear winner (this is my experience owning both cars). If you get the chance, rerun the drag and use launch control to get a hole shot, you'll see a noticeable difference in acceleration as the G car can actually put its power down without spinning and hopping off of the line. Even with the extra 100 HP on the M2C, it wont be as fast as the G87 in a drag race.

Wouldn’t it be odd to use launch control on one but not the other?

I’ve owned the previous as well. This video was interesting to me. The F87 was great and it shows what a tune or piggy back could do in comparison to the G87.

Would like to see stock vs stock comparison as well to showcase both platforms.

Oh no doubt you should try both. But with how hard it is to launch the F87 properly when stock, it's going to be a handful with an extra 100 hp without super sticky tires. I would bet that's why they basically did a roll race instead of launching both cars normally.

But if the F87 had the advantage of a tuning box then the G needs to at least be given the option of using everything it can use too.

Bar setting a benchmark, i never understood stock car V tuned car races. Id have preferred to see how a stock M2c holds up to the newer G87.

Waste of a good video. Oh, sticking 295s on the F series, what was the point of the comparison again?
