I did see the bmwblog article about some more colors but nothing about interior

Is it possible to swap interior from a g42?? It would be a direct fit right?

G42 offers some different colors. IIRC door cards and seats should transfer over if you have the HK system on the G42. ideally its specc'd with the lumbar support too for complete port over

can't see that looking good at all, maybe you'd get away with the door cards in a different color but the rears would be too much

Better off getting a G42 and engine swapping lol. Don’t massacre the G87 just because interior color! 2025 will likely not get any interior choices as that will thin the G80/82 market. They need an upsell or those cars will not sell heavy. Especially G82.

Let’s put it this way- if I speck a G82 in manual exactly like the G87 with drift analyzer and all- there is a 12-14k increase for virtually the same car minus a longer wheel base and some different body paneling.

They need interior choices for the more “upscale” cars to be worth it. BMW already screwed themselves (not us though!) by supplying the M2 with the exact S58 engine and all around components as it’s older brother and sister. This thing is meant to be entry, and they failed at that. They accidentally on purpose made the M2 better than a base M4 for less money.

If they add interior color and other small things that make an M3/4 slightly more desirable like orange, white, blue, or red interior…why bother with an M4 unless you want slightly more HP and x drive?

I have the MY23 M240 with a driver lumbar seat (its not available for passenger seat) and I have a MY23 G87 with the M color sport seats and the G87 are far more comfortable and supportive than the G42 lumbar seat. Would never want or think of putting the M240 seats in the G87.

yeah imagine if they offered the merino leather options in the M2

from what I'm seeing right now the main things to upsell you on it are merino, drive assist pro, ceramic brake option and more exterior color choices

My seats are Marino if that counts lol.

But yes, you are right. Those coupled with more hp in competition models and x drive. That extended leather color option is sweet also.

I don’t see the value there unless I care much about luxuries and fancy stuff, which I don’t. I think pound for pound the product offerings are greater in the G80/82 platform but the cost per product is WAY better in the G87.
