Do I need to replace all 4 tyres for 1 puncture?!

So have an xdrive M240i with a puncture on left rear. Do you need to replace all 4 tyres at the same time due to the xdrive system or can I get away with just doing the rear 2

I'm losing about 1psi a day in my rear passenger run flat. I can't find a puncture.
Any manufacturer defect? 18k miles.

Take it to a tyre shop and they’ll find if there’s a slow puncture if it’s there

It might be a bent or cracked rim

With the car on the ground a puncture can be hard to spot. On the lift one can rotate the wheel/tire assembly and maybe spot the metal in the tire. A bit of soapy water sprayed on the suspected area can confirm the leak... Bubbles.

'course, one can spray the valve stem (the valve might be leaking) and even the beads.

A leaking wheel could be harder to confirm.

Had a rear tire on my M2 lose pressure. A PSI or 2 over a span of several days.

Took the car in (with ~3200 miles on it) and the tech found a puncture which was the slow leak. He deemed the tire repairable and repaired it.

Then about 1600 miles later the other rear tire manifested signs of a low leak. Back at the dealer the tech found the puncture and repaired the tire. About 5K miles since then and both rear tires are fine.

My advice is book the car in to have the tire(s) checked. Once the source of the leak is identified then if in the tire the tire may be repairable.

If not it will have to be replaced. The BMW tech will have access to the maximum tire wear difference to know if the old tire on the axle needs to be replaced or even if the front tires need to be replaced to keep all the tires diameters within spec.

So weird update got the 2 new tyres and they say they balanced them too.

Checked for the weights and they’ve left the glue on. Annoying. But weirdly they’ve removed all the weights from both sides. (2 new tyres) and not added any back on. I got the exact same tyre fitted as were on there before so should the weighting be exactly the same.

Weird they haven’t added any on at all
