G87 Eibach ProKit

Eibach seems to be the only one to offer a normal spring (in Germany). They are considerably cheaper than a HAS kit (240€) and simpler to install... The drop should be 30mm/20mm. They also seem to be G87 specific unlike all the HAS options.

If they drive and look well I would just save the money and not bother with a HAS...

Has anyone tried out this option? Any pictures?

The beauty of a HAS system is you can dial the exact height in for your needs/constraints. I had just springs on my F80 M3 and loved the look, but always wished I could adjust it just a bit more. I had Eibach springs on my F01, and was happy with the quality. I can't weigh in on G87 ride and fitment though. From my experience, I'd spend the extra 240 Euros, if the aforementioned adjustability is of any value to you.

I had Eibach on a Cooper S before and the car was sitting perfectly, also driving great.
In case of G87 I can't find any info or pictures. If it looks right, the adjustability has absolutely no value to me.
Eibach springs themselves are 240€... It's a 620€ difference from KW(860€). I can get them installed with TÜV for 500-600€ all in. With KW's I got a quote for 1350€ with install.

I had Eibach Pro Kit in my G42 and it was perfect.

I decided to go with the H&R VTF kit(will be installed this week) on my G87 because I was told by reputable shop owner who has a G80 and has tried H&R springs and KW HAS and he preferred the H&R VTF.

I will update as after I test for myself

Haven't heard any real world feedback for the H&R VTF kit. Please update us when you've got them on the car.

I hate to be that guy but you’re on the hook for a blown shock (warranty) I know I know, they never fail.

Do you have any reason to say that about H&R or are you speaking about all kits?

I’m speaking about all kits. I love hr and eibach and have used them countless times on family VAGS. I’m just pointing out bmw won’t cover a blown failed shock if you install lowering springs.

I’m very thankful bmw offers the M HAS kit at port cause I probably wouldn’t buy a M2 without the warrantied 4x4 fix

If anyone is wondering... Looks decent. Looks pretty much like stock should've been. I'm probably going to try out this option after the break in service is done.

Nope, but more gray area than springs. If an oem shock leaks at 3k, I’m guessing bmw will hook you up.

I am a big fan of Eibach springs especially if you are keeping the OEM dampers. You start lowering more than an inch and you are beyond the valving of the OEM dampers. I think the Eibach kits are perfect, doesn't lower it too much still looks somewhat OEM. Also if you switch out the OEM rears to a 295/30/19 that takes up some more space.

I wonder where do these figures come from...
Official Eibach catalogue states 30mm front, 20mm rear

For the F80 there was two references for the Eibach Pro kit, one for EU Spec, one for USA specs.
USA specs were lower than EU.

H&R also makes a non-adjustable spring specifically for the G87. drop is a bit more than this I believe.

Bringing this back for some updated reviews. I'm looking for that OEM+ look without ruining the performance of the suspension. How has everyone been liking the setup?

If the inch drop is the limit for the shocks to work properly, then what happens when you drop the car more with the MP HAS?
Would that cause issues for BMW not to warranty the shocks should any fail?
Or is the consumer not to self adjust the port installed MP HAS as delivered?

Good question, I can't say.
