Dinan G42 BMW M240i xDrive Springs & Ride Quality and Handling Kit

Part Number(s): D100-0939 (Springs) & D193-0121 (Bumpstops)
Applications:
  • 2022-2024 BMW G42 M240i xDrive
Product Page(s) / Pricing: bit.ly/G42-SK
Release Date: Available Now!

Description: Suspension systems that not only transform the stance of the vehicle but also maintain ride quality and improve upon handling are what Dinan suspensions are known for. This is accomplished by pairing springs sets with bump stops spring perches or both to maintain suspension travel resulting in a smooth ride while also improving mechanical grip and handling. This is what makes Dinan suspension systems unique. While we are able to sell each component separately, it is highly recommended that both the spring sets and the supplemental ride quality and handling kits are used in tandem in order to maintain the Dinan quality standards our customers are used to. Experience the Dinan difference with this combination and enjoy the ride it provides.

Dinan's Performance Spring set for the BMW G42 M240i xDrive provides greater control over body roll by virtue of carefully calibrated spring rates. Additionally, Dinan lowers the car for improved suspension geometry and an even more aggressive stance. The Dinan springs are CNC wound with high tensile chrome silicon wire and shot-peened for stress relief to last the life of the car. The increase in stiffness will reduce the rear suspension compression under acceleration and front suspension compression (or dive) under braking, giving your car a more controlled feel. The Dinan performance springs will also provide a noticeable improvement in grip for high-speed driving situations that will inspire confidence in your car's capabilities. The reduced body roll makes the steering more responsive to driver input and will be noticed at low speeds up to the top speed of the vehicle.

NOTE: Dinan Performance Spring sets should be purchased and installed with the corresponding Ride Quality and Handling Kit to achieve the advertised ride height performance and ride quality. While not explicitly required, if the matching component is not purchased and installed you will get less than favorable results in the form of poor ride quality and improper handling traits. While we will maintain a full warranty on product defects any claims against the cars improper handling ride quality traits due to not purchasing the corresponding handling kit will not be warranted.

Features/Benefits:
  • Vehicle lowered 7/8-inch (22mm) in the front and rear
  • 24% increase in spring stiffness in front and rear
  • Substantial reduction in body roll
  • Preset to prevent spring sag
  • Includes (2) front dual rate springs and (2) rear linear rate springs (Ride Quality and Handling Kit sold separately)

I am looking for a moderate drop after this winter and retaining right quality is very important for me.

The other thing is that it seems our shocks blows much faster with lowering springs and since I have expensive adaptive dampers this concern me. My previous car ( BMW 535i 2011) and I had H&R spring for 10 years without issue but the drop is to low on the G42 vs what I am looking for.

I was planning on eibach springs but seems like this would be a great option for what I am looking for.

Now wondering does the spring rate of these higher or lower than eibach and how this affect the speed of shock degradation.

How the comfort and ride quality should be vs eibach .

Obviously you may not be able to answer but hopefully I will see customer feedback on these before the end of winter. Maybe to help how similar these are with the one on the G20 M340i, I could go read feedback there.

Perfect drop, just weighing if I want a fixed drop or the HAS from mss...

I feel like having a fixed drop and $900 in my pocket seems pretty good.

Can't compare directly to Eibach obviously without some direct spring rate numbers and its hard to do a direct compare to the M340i as they use different style springs in the front in particular (dual rate vs linear) but the ending rates are similar between the two platforms. M240i is a hair stiffer on paper despite my feeling as a driver they feel a bit softer -- given its been quite awhile since I have been able to drive them back to back. Regardless, from a ride quality standpoint the M340i reviews should suffice as a point of reference.

Is the Ride Quality and Handling Kit model D193-0121? If so it doesn't mention G42 on the website FYI.

Never had a RWD M240i in the shop to test so listed compatibility is specific for the xDrive at this time. If it follows the normal course though the xDrive springs would physically fit a RWD but the front springs specifically would not be ideal and likely be much too stiff on a RWD car and exhibit a reverse rake as a result.

Yes, D193-0121. With how the data breaks up the primary headline for ACES/PIES data proliferation though the 2 series line gets cut off on our website. The sub-text headline still lists G42 at least. Known issue with products that have a diverse application list. =/

My only other question is how many Dinan points does this get someone?
