ID8 and youtube

To all that want youtube in ID8, I manage to get it done..

you have to install AAAD and over that CarStream
it works youtube, web browser....

Well I can see the point in being able to play a movie using Apple CarPlay, if you're parked waiting for a long time.

3. connect to the car, launch android auto and there you will see new icon for CarStream.. launch it

Anybody else do this? Is it safe? Can’t find much info on this. Hearing it acts more like a web browser than an app version. Also does this allow you to watch while driving?

it works like it should. Also while driving.

Done on both mine bmw with ID8 and it work like a charm.

why wouldnt be safe hahaha

I had one of those. Yes, it can play YouTube videos as well as use streaming services however you’ll need a SIM card for 3G/4G internet AND the android base OS system is very slow, you can’t use the iDrive knob (touch screen only), the audio is out of sync with streaming video and worse yet, you need to manually disconnect your iPhone and manually select this device each time you want to use it. I ended up selling it.

I have one and have zero issues. It does require data, and touch control but no sync issues.

They're not all created equal.
