Nope, the updates from BMW can overwrite the changes we make using bimmercode. Due to that you sometimes need to go back in and make those changes again with bimmercode.

I did go back in twice. The option for the B&W sound does not appear on the BimmerCode menu. The option to bypass the startup legal disclaimer also no longer appears on the BimmerCode menu.

They were both still there when I recoded after the software update. I disabled the disclaimer again.

OK I figured it out. For some reason, unbeknownst to me, my Bimmercode App was not recognizing that I had purchased the full version and hence the headunit contrpol module was not being displayed. The head unit module controls the B&W sound and legal disclaimer on start up. So all is good again.

Is the update only id8? Could have sworn that some people with id7 received it.

This is the M2 forum, all of our cars come with ID8. So we’re discussing these updates.

That’s right, sorry. I don’t check the sub forums and this was on top of my “subscriptions” list.

Anyway, the thread is about the ID8, which all M2s have and newer G42s too. Older G42 will have ID7 and their updates, if any.

Interesting. I did not know that, because I only know ID8. Does the ID7 get the same features?

Not sure on that one. All I know is that the versions have always matched up and release at the same time.

In the past I’ve always gotten the update right away, at least when news hits the forums about it, but this time no such luck.

I know they do rolling updates so guess they are making me wait this time.

My ConnectedDrive expires in 26.08.2024 (today is 3-24-24). I would like to force push any ID updates if possible. Currently CarPlay is not recognizing devices connected via USB plus I see the GUI is much friendlier on ID7...any sugestions?

There is no way to force updates. They are only sent out by BMW. You could go to your dealer and ask them to update but most won’t even do that unless there is an issue that is fixed by a newer update.

Your only chance is to go to the dealer and show them that devices arent being recognized. But most likely they will say “that’s not a compatible device”. They generally hate doing upgrades in my experience.
