I think BSM with cognac interior is the way to go with the current color choices available. Kind of annoying because I’d also spec the carbon roof which seems wasted on a black car, but I wouldn’t want a sunroof.

Wish they had IOMG, tanzanite, aventurin, etc. The available color choices suck imo. I know the F87 only had limited choices but I would take SO, LBB, or MB over TR or ZB any day.

Rear looks fine in black.

But my god the front end is just awful. The paint doesn’t match and makes it look like the front bumper was plumped with too much filler. Yikes

Well, I tried again and it worked this time. First time was at work over lunch, might have been a security related thing.

The paint definitely matches, the hood just comes up at a slightly different angle than the bumper and reflections change the light slightly.

Personally I love the front bumper and the f15 esque air intakes, but you do you

Now that it has been pointed out, the paint match on front bumper cover is horrible! Note that a 3rd party typically paints the front and rear bumper covers off-site. They are not painted along side the vehicle body.

Am I blind? The front 3/4 and zoomed in shot of the front corner both seem to have the bumper paint match with the fender

It appears like there is more metallic flake in the BC than the hood?

Im 99% that's the steeper angle of the hood messing with it.

In this shot the reflection of the flake looks perfect from fender to bumper. You can also see the slope of the hood compared to the bumper.

Possibly or it is a pre-production example that perfect color match is not of real concern.

It’s the angle. Trust me. I’ve owned 4 total BSM cars and 2 currently. In sunlight, the body lines have a big impact on the shade and metallic flake that you can see.

The problem is the horrible transition from the bumper to hood.

It was the designer of the G87 M2 desire to make the car look like it had gone to the gym and had bulking muscles 💪

The more I see this car, the more I'm thinking... Should I just order an M2 over an M3? Looks pretty sick in black...

Well, it certainly ISNT a chick magnet

first time I have seen a video of bsm. Glad we have options... unfortunately only slightly better than this.
BUT, does a black car make sense to wrap? For purposes of the inside of door wells and such?

Looks the best here but I won’t be fooled by non used car photos of Black paint anymore. It looks great when not used . Once you start driving it goes to hell. Micro scratches , swirls, small rock chips etc. Drives me insane. Not to mention it’s impossible to not get random dings and scratches.

I like most of it. That front bumper is just plain ugly though.

Well maintained BSM. ⬇️No PPF, no ceramic coat. No filters, no edits. You guys will all be fine. Take it in the color it looks best in.

Ya, black cars look great at night, in the shade & (5 minutes max) after a fresh wash. But try taking closeup photos of the clear coat in direct sunlight on a bright sunny day, mid afternoon with a nice well respected HQ lens. More than confident the story might be different. Those obsessive compulsive detailers with OCD will tell you "black isn't a color, it's a full time commitment." .

That's a shame they can't paint everything in house. If they're using the same exact color code from the same exact batch on the same day from the same supplier, shouldn't the color variances be pretty minimal... ? Also keep in mind ladies & gents, the way color lays down on a metal panel will always be different than a plastic composite panel. Even if shot on the same exact day, time, temp, room & from the same gun.

Fully agreed. The F87 didn't get much authority in the lineup & the G87 is no different. This car is about raw performance & we're getting substantial bang for the buck. Giving us a decent color selection lineup or individual options just isn't in the bag. Don't see that changing unfortunately. Mineral Gray would surely look sick on this car.

I deleted the photo unfortunately but when I saw it in person I took a closeup of the profile transition from hood to bumper and it follows the same angle. There’s isn’t a change in angle.
