definitely hit or miss with this dealer, i was going to put down a deposit, the CA wanted $2000, and he said no guarantee on msrp and telling me market currently 5k over. what an attitude (when i told him i was on a couple of other lists), would never ever buy a car from him.

Of course i fully understand allocations and waitlists that precede the build order and delivery time, but the total time can be still estimated such as telling me I’m going to wait two plus f******g years on a mexico made mass produced car if I want one. Yeah, right.
This is the internet. You’re allowed to say the word “fucking”. Let us know when you have an allocation. Good luck.

What’s current wait time for an allocation at your dealership, 3~4 weeks or more closer to 8~10 months?

This seems silly, I got my allocation father's day weekend (order submit to the order bank last year) and might get my car in 3 weeks, this thread is throwing a lot of hypothetical scenarios into the mix that seem inconsistent with previous threads of allocation to delivery timelines.

Not to mention current actual times with people in ALL stages of production to completed production, waiting on trucks, ships, and/or who knows what is going on with BMW and the SLP plant.

A lot more detail than I wanted to get into, but yeah, a lot more going on than this thread is being clear on. Seems like a lot of speculation, but might just be having a hard time following along on the content.

This thread has gone on longer than it should. Some of us (GregW / Oregon) have put a lot of work tracking actual real times and there is another thread discussing Allocation availability and associated ADMs. Then there is another thread that’s all about The Good, Bad & Ugly dealers. Perhaps if OP wants to continue this he can move it over there.

1 allocation a month is 12 allocations a year. If the waitlist has 20+ people then they’ll tell you it could be 2 years until you get your allocation.

Obviously this fluctuates regionally, and dealerships will try to milk it.

Does Irvine BMW not have a waitlist?

Plenty here are experts but refuse to actually delve into confirmed timelines. But they they look great offering advice to others as if they are a dealer themselves lol!

This is just not true. I went to put an order in last month in Atlanta which is a very large market. 3 dealerships, not one had a wait list over 8 and the one I ordered through didn't have a wait list at all, they said I was first up when I put deposit in. Hoping I get lucky on allocations but not worried as a longer wait benefits me more. Granted they are dealers and could be lying but just relaying what I was told. Granted they did QUOTE me 5-10 month wait. Lastly, for those interested, they did put "2024 MSRP, no markup" in writing.

I said most dealerships. Not all. It obviously varies widely by market. Try New York or Los Angeles or Denver or Chicago or DC, or in contrast, smaller Midwest markets - which several people on this forum will testify, dealerships there have gotten 1 or 2 allocations IN TOTAL. Glad you were able to find yourself a golden goose, but you’re the exception to the rule. You should share their information here on the forums so other people can get their cars sooner.

Thank you. Some people here want to make you believe all dealers are the same and we buyers are SOL.. just bite the bullet and bend over. Sorry. Wrong.

Doesn’t matter if it’s the internet or not. Have you heard of forum civility rules? No I don’t read all of them to see which ones I can spell curse words out either. You got the message and point just fine.

Your assertions have eroded. There are numerous examples of people and dealers here who’ve gotten their m2’s in a reasonable amount of time AND with no markup. Have a nice day!

So, when are you getting yours? You’re the one that started an angry thread.

It should surprise no one that different dealers have different terms and how they treat their customers. The main point with this thread was to expose a particular dealer that was not fully transparent and/or concerned about customer service. There are more than a few instances in this thread where others have been treated the same way. I believe exposing these dealers and taking our business elsewhere is the best method to correct shabby customer service if nothing else.

Furthermore, in case you didn’t read my initial post where It asked Ivan about new m2, m3, and m4 availability, I’m also exploring used options… 21-23’ m3/m4.
