This is neither here nor there, but we did the math over in the other thread! While they're not nearly "One of 700 in the U.S." rare....they're rarer than I thought (in America, there are a ton of them in the rest of the world, but here, in America...pretty rare)

60K F87's for the whole world

19 percent to the North America (roughly 12K)

~7500 OG M2's (Leaves roughly 4500 M2C's and M2 CS models in the NA market)

Now this would be a very comparable lineup of cars.

Or at least least for me personally, this is the exact 3 cars I'm cross shopping at the moment while I'm stuck in limbo for an allocation on a M2...

A very interesting (but unlikely) review would be comparing all 3 with their automatics, considering that the manual seems to be the unanimous let-down on the M2 for most reviews. Wonder if that would sway reviews in favor of the M2.

I like the Everyday Driver guys. They are nerdy but I find them more honest and unbiased compared to some other youtube reviewers. These days I feel it's just lazy to continually compare today's cars to cars of the past. We all know today's cars are heavier and more computer aided and we shouldn't need to be reminded everytime we watch a new car review. Just tell us if the car is fun and if the performance is up to today's expectations. I don't need to be told it lacks the "xxx" of the E46 as that car is not in production, nor is it relevant to what viewers tuned in to hear. We all know a modern car is going to drive and feel totally different to one that was manufactured 20 years ago so stop trying to remind us every time a new M car is launched.

Yeah, i enjoy them too, despite frequently disagreeing with their opinions. But they're good at presenting their opinions as just that, which makes them fun to watch and informative even if our tastes differ. Plus, I met Todd a couple of times at Lemons Races, seemed like a good dude.

Wait your wife didn’t want to be seen in a 911turbo?

either the 6 MT M2 really has terrible gearing or the power to weigh ratio is not good... i wish they gave trap speeds here

The big problem with this test is it really is just a measure of off the line traction. With using a runway the middle position always has more deposited rubber and less debris (such as dust, rubber marbles and small stones) than the outer positions due to aircraft usage unless the surface has been hot-air blasted and scrubbed very recently (which is rare for anything other than major airports).

A re-run of the test swapping car positions across left, centre and right would at least give a bit more of a valid comparison.

Why no video from inside the M2?

Sam Car Legion is the same guy who did a whole comparison review claiming the M340i is faster than the G80 Comp, then quietly deleted it when it was pointed out that he ran the M3 in low fuel mode (limited to 4000RPM).

Not sure how Sam measured the M2 doing 0-60 faster than the Supra in that test. M2 gets to 60mph first, when it was clearly struggling for traction, then loses the lead at speed, when traction is no longer an issue? I have no doubt that the G87 6MT is faster than the Supra 6MT, but that guy has no credibility.

It's on a chassis that is what, 15 years old, now? Nissan is KILLING me by under-investing in the Z line. Sad decline of a great lineage.

This strip is only used for cars, with no aircraft usage for many years

Even after many years there is still rubber left from aircraft use and if it hasn’t had sweeping trucks used on it, probably enough dust and debris to cause traction issues. At least swapping the car positions and rerunning the test would reduce the issues of variable traction across the strip width.

We used to use the 3,000ft runway at Fort Macleod for autocross which had very little aircraft traffic, but had to pay to have it swept each year and manually spent an hour with 50 people and brooms sweeping any accumulated debris before events. If not, The traction was terrible, especially away from the centreline.

For measuring comparable acceleration, an unprepared surface is no substitute for a proper drag strip.

The comparison between the 2023 BMW M2, Toyota Supra, and Nissan Z is undoubtedly an exciting topic for car enthusiasts. Each of these vehicles brings its own unique characteristics to the table, making it a tough choice for anyone deciding which one to take. While I can't provide a personal opinion as an AI, I can offer some insights into these cars that might help you make a decision.

The 2023 BMW M2 is known for its exceptional performance and driving dynamics. With its powerful engine, precise handling, and track-ready capabilities, the M2 is a favorite among driving enthusiasts who crave a thrilling and engaging experience on the road or track.

The Toyota Supra has made a strong comeback in recent years, capturing the attention of sports car enthusiasts. With its sleek design, turbocharged engine, and rear-wheel drive, the Supra delivers impressive performance and a memorable driving experience. Its close ties to BMW in terms of platform and engine technology add to its appeal.

The Nissan Z, with its new 2023 iteration, carries on the legacy of the iconic Z-car lineage. It features a powerful engine, rear-wheel drive, and a design that pays homage to the Z's heritage. The Z promises an exhilarating ride, combining performance, style, and affordability, making it an attractive option for enthusiasts seeking an engaging sports car experience.

Ultimately, the choice between the BMW M2, Toyota Supra, and Nissan Z boils down to personal preference. It's important to consider factors such as driving experience, performance, design, features, and budget. Taking each car for a test drive, comparing their specifications, and researching owner reviews can help you gather valuable insights and make an informed decision that aligns with your specific preferences and requirements.

Remember to consider factors beyond just performance, such as practicality, comfort, and everyday usability, especially if you plan to use the car as a daily driver.

Whichever car you ultimately choose, all three options offer exciting driving experiences and can provide immense enjoyment on the road. Happy JDM car shopping, and may you find the perfect match that puts a smile on your face every time you get behind the wheel!

Guys, some people don’t like the M2 and that’s fine. It doesn’t make them “biased” or “idiots” and it’s so sweaty to cherry pick the positive reviews and retroactively declare those writers as the “objective” ones.

Why even read reviews if you’re only looking to have your opinions validated?

Not everyone is going to love our car. Hell, it might even be true that our car
is not the best car around. As long as we like it, that’s all that matters. No need to attack the credibility of anyone that doesn’t share our opinion.
