Manual Transmission ONLY - Wireless Charger Location

As title reads:

If you have a Manual Transmission G87 that has the wireless charger, where is it located?

- In the armrest compartment
- In the cubby in front of the cupholders on the console

Cheers!

My car came with a phone overheater, and it works quite well. In only a few minutes, my phone is completely overheated and carplay disconnects. This process is described in detail on page 1,666 of the manual. Works flawlessly.

Glad it’s working as designed.

Armrest cubby. Includes plastic jaw clampers to keep the phone upright and swaddled, so it can overheat more thoroughly.

Why do you ask, is there variance between cars? Is it EVER in the front cubby on manuals?

Too bad you didn’t. It might have helped to cool your phone were it just removed from the overheater.

Can someone confirm the location and type of the USB and power sockets in the Manual M2 w/ Wireless Charger?

From what I gathered it's a USB-C in the center console, USB-A in the space in front of the gear shift and a 12v socket in the space in front of the gear shift.

That's what's in my non-wireless charger manual car.

I love that center console C, it works with the adaptive charging of my Pixel 7. Finally a car with a useful USB port!

Just curious, but why do you need two 12V sockets?

Would prefer to have one in the rear seat area so I can wire up a dashcam to it without having a wire visible to the driver. Plus having more charging cables in the car is never a bad thing. Not the end of the world but a bit disappointing

Wire it to the fuse box and run the cable through the seams underneath the door seal.

Yep recommend hard wire. It was easy peasy in this car.

By the way, here's my thread on hardwiring dash cam, but really it just references a G80 thread for hardwiring a dash cam. Worked great in my car.

Awesome, thanks! I saw that a few weeks ago and was going to have to find it again.

I still would have preferred the extra 12v connector for the drive home from SC before I have time to hard wire, but not the end of the world.
