MY23 to MY24

So just talked to my CA and it looks like all of the delays are going to make me have to go to a MY24 build and I will have to pay the MY24 price just because I want the carbon pack. This just sucks. Delayed a ton of times and now more delays. I was the first one at my dealership too.

That sucks. Condolences. Nothing worse than screaming "please take my money."

Just got the same dreaded call. If I remove the buckets they are willing to honor my 2023 price given all the delays and setbacks. Said I’ll have the car in 3/4 months

Wow that's some bs

I had a similar scenario but with an M3 . My build got delayed multiple times due to Bucket shortage.

MY23 got flipped into a MY24 , but I had my CA ask BMW NA for price protection . Which basically came out to $1,700 in credit . Me and a few others on the forums actually

Yea, I assume I will get the same call as well. I live in New England and plan on taking it off the road during the winter, so getting the car in November isn’t ideal. I am seriously considering bumping my spot in line to MY25 and picking up an ITS or CTR to hold me over. Main draw is that I would have a car I could enjoy through the winter months and then take advantage of the rumored HP bump and additional colors coming with MY25 M2.

I've been lurking here for a while. Put down a deposit back in January. Dealer called last week and said my allocation arrived and it would be a MY24. I went in this Monday to confirm the build, and lo and behold, my CA was not able to order the carbon pack. He let me know the next day that the Carbon Pack was not available to order at this time for MY24 cars. The roof could be optioned by itself.

I really want the carbon buckets, so I told him I'm fine waiting. Hoping that they do become available again.

I bring this up because I'm curious if anyone has been able to order a MY24 in the last couple of weeks and were able to successfully order the carbon pack.

Good luck to everyone out there!

Just got the call from my CA. ya, it's basically change your order to drop the buckets and it will go into production next week. But starting next week all new orders are MY24 and buckets can't be added to the build at this time so if you want them then you will have to wait until....... who knows when....

July Allocations for August production dropped on June 29th. August allocations for September production should drop towards the end of July.

Completely appreciating that I may be a noob for asking this: is it worth opening a new thread specifically for the best intelligence on the latest on carbon pack availability?

What made you decide for a 24?

You got another allocation already or you will be getting one? If you will be getting one (or hopefully) at the end of July/early August, I would say delivery would be November.

What would be the benefit of the early production MY24 (just the newer MY and $1,000 more)?

If you did this, are they willing to "eat" you MY23 that is coming? Did you have a deposit? If so, are they crediting/transferring to the MY24?

The dealer will keep the MY23. They are happy to.
Just makes financial sense. If I take the MY23, im basically buying a year old car. Especially if i get the car in 3 months. Only problem is, I;m in Canada and wont be able to drive it much in Oct/Nov with winter.

Thinking if i can time it right maybe see if i can get a feb production, so it arrives for spring. Just sucks to wait
