Clean Leather

Used chemical guys leather quick detailer on my FR interior.

Very happy with it. No greasy texture and really deepened the color.

Glad you're pleased with the results. I'm maintaining my Silverstone leather with Colourlock leather cleaner (after applying Carpro ceramic coating for leather). I'm partial to preserving the original matte finish of all leather, plastic and rubber surfaces, and my chosen products have fulfilled my wishes.

For me the best cleaning solution is from Gyeon Leather Cleaner - mild . Also i have found Interior Detailer , also from them, works well for mantaining the leather clean . I love the Leather UV Protection Kit from BMW . It's a mess to clean the dashboard after you apply it , but is the only one which makes feel the leather "fresh" .

I use PS express interior cleaner. Its super cheap, effective, can be diluted and smells great.

I purchased chemical guys matte detail spray for my frozen grey M4 last week. Had to wash it straight off as it left milky white streaks everywhere.
Do you use any of their other products?
Just curious as I wouldn't use the brand again based on my experience and wonder if it was a one off.

Gliptone leather cleaner and their conditioner has always served me well. Leaves a proper old school leather smell as well as the factory matte appearance.

The only chemical guys product I would use is VRP. All of their other stuff is low quality garbage which has a bunch of marketing behind it.

Stick to trusted brands on your car- Gyeon, Carpro, P&S, Built Hamber, etc

I agree. Think they spend more time on packaging, smell and colour than they do on the product performance.

I like the Matte leather, but clean, look. I do not like the shiny grease Lightning slide off your chair in a spirited curb look.

I used leatherique before and loved it, now I use chemical guys cleaner, doesn't seem to be the best.

I would try detailed image site, they have a bunch of reviews from actual users and detailers which use their products. Granted, some detailers are probably paid for their opinion (usually positive) but you can see the results and capability of products.

I dont use much of their products except for their watermelon snow foam.

I like Griots Ceramic spray wax as a detailer, and use Meguiers wax on paint. I prefer griots wheel cleaner as well.

I bought it becuase I wanted to try something to deepen the tone of the seats, since it had this lighter orangish color before that I didnt really care for and wanted to get it darker. I have leather honey that really didnt do much and creates a sticky texture, and in the north texas dust, that is a pure no go. Despite the sheen there is no different feel or slipperyness created.

If you go into one of their stores, you can quickly see that they are definitely playing in the marketing game. they have a dozen variants of everything at all different prices. Clearly not a necessity and they are probably diluting the same stuff and selling it for cheaper.

I have always used Gliptone Leather lotion but with vented seats its a bit of a challenge, I liked the spray format as it didnt get stuck in all the holes.

The best detail spray for black has been meguires quick detailer, but it washes off really quickly tho. Super slick finish, and goes on really easily.

I really like the Griots ceramic spray wax as it lasts a really long time, but it takes more effort to get it on streak free. Needs to be a totally dry car, and cool and you need to use two towels to always buff with a dry one. Cannot get it on a hot car at all, dont even try.

Another vote for Colourlock, just get one of the kits it has everything you need to clean and maintain high end interior leathers. In a pinch the BMW branded interior cleaner is solid as well, I think someone mentioned it.

Stop using cg products. They all suck or if you really think one is “good” there’s definitely an alternative out there that outperforms it. The fact you guys still use their products is a testament to their marketing.

+1 for ColourLock.

I use the Mild leather cleaner whenever I notice some shiny spots on the leather. Brings it back to a factory matte finish using the supplied brush.

Top it off with leather protection milk and you should be set for 6 months.

Also, never ever use coatings on leather.

There are a few different ColourLock options on Amazon, which one should a person get for the seats? And can the product be used all over the seats front/back since I think some areas are not leather....

Car is new, so I'm not sure I really need to clean anything?

+2 for Colourlock. Also, anything Gyeon leather. I haven't touched anything CG, since about 2016. VRP is the only thing I have in my cabinet, and I don't use it. Even their stripper scent air freshener, smells like a mens musk. There is nothing stripper about it. Quick Detailer/ Waterless wash goes to Ethos D3Fy. Tire shine goes to Meguiars all season dressing. Shampoo goes to Koch Chemie GSF.
