I’m scared doing this will cause me to have to upgrade my exhaust…

I'm looking in bimmercode and I'm not seeing any options for an M2. Do I just use 2 series or 2 series er grand coupe?

You might need to update the app - it's there. Mine updated automatically.

Mine updated but it's not there. I'm on Android. You?

Yeah, it seems so posed. Turn off the fake and open flaps. Then see what else I need to do to fix things the right way.

We’ll see. I’ll give it a shot

Here’s another interesting thing, there’s no way to change ambient lighting under the M2 menu. I did all the coding under M2 and did ambient under M3 and it worked just fine

Does anyone have any recommendations for things I should not miss out on coding. I definitely want to remove the piped in engine noise, as well as change mirror tilt.

What difference do you notice? It's counterintuitive to use a profile designed for a different system.

Getting rid of the start up warning was huge for me. Also disabled driver seatbelt warning (I don't need to be reminded). I want to change the fuel reserve warning settings, but for some reason I'm not getting any instrument cluster options.

To me, once I adjusted the EQ, the standard sound profile sounded as good if not better than the B&W. Don't think I'll code that back in.

Tuxon Speed made a video that lists some good things to code:

For me, I coded mirror tilt, start up warnings disable, and heated seat temps.

I haven’t done it yet, so I’m just going off of what some of the others have said. I have given a half assed attemp to adjust the EQ, and it’s MUCH better. I admit I need to get some proper music on the system and spend some time tweaking it. Or maybe I’ll code the B&W profile and tweak from there.

OBD Adapter G87

Anyone using any OBD Adapter for the 2023 BMW M2 G87 and any thoughts? Researching the OBDLink CX Bimmercode and OBDLink MX+and also the KIES WiFi ENET Adapter. Just wanted to see if anyone recommended any of them. Thanks in advance.

I'm sing the OBDLink CX. Seems to work fine, although I think I would prefer wired because it seems to transfer faster. It also occasionally doesn't want to connect the first time and I have to retry a few times.

  • If you have a battery tender use it. This is just a failsafe, it's highly unlikely you'll have any issues but it's cheap insurance. If you don't have a tender and if your car has been sitting for a while, go for a ~20m drive before you start coding. That will make sure your battery is topped off and healthy.

  • When you get into the car to code roll down the window, fasten your seatbelt, do not start the eigne. Turn on the cars power but turn off all accessories, lights, HVAC, etc. Basically anything that draws power should be off. Having the seatbelt fastened ensures the car will not go to sleep during coding. Having the window down is just in case of an emergency you need to get out of the car while it's still coding. It also can get stuffy in there.

  • Keep a list handy as you're making changes so that you know what you did. Yes, the app backs up each time you apply a change, but the backup doesn't tell you what was changed, it just stores the date. I mentioned this before, but if you go in for service and they have to apply a software update it's highly likely all the changes you made will get reset to factory defaults. That's when you'll be glad you have a list to quickly go back in and recode.

  • Don't freak out when you see the iDrive screen go blank or when you get warning lights on the dash. That normal when coding. When done the app will automatically clear them.

  • Lastly have fun. Customizing the car to your liking is awesome. You'll never turn back and will look for other things to code.
Thanks for this Tag - new to it as well, and will look to get myself set up over the next month. This is great advice.

I also run BimmerCode on Android and the M2 is not yet listed. It does list 2 series and it loads but not sure if the database needs to be updated for the Android app again. Will harass Bimmercode folks.

Agreed, after getting one I really think midpipe is borderline mandatory for this car
