For you coders, can the headlights be programmed to eliminate the “auto on” feature? TIA

Yes! Annoying that you can’t turn off the lights when driving isn’t it?
There’s an option to enable the “off” button when driving. Pretty simple to do with BimmerCode.

Thank you. I didn’t word my question correctly. Can the car be coded to totally disable the “auto on” feature? IOW, headlights are manually controlled at all time including when the car is started (in darkness for example). I hadn’t considered being underway as you indicated.

Mmm I’m not sure.
It could be that, once enabled, you set it to “off”, and it remembers it next time? I haven’t tested that because I normally set it to auto. At least it’ll give you the option to turn it off. I’ll see if I can test turning it off and seeing if it remembers being off next time. Let you know. If you can code yours, let us know too what you find.

It always goes back to auto when starting the car.

I coded out the warning message and ASD today.

There is definitely some fake news floating around that you can't hear the car at all after disabling the ASD.

It's still making plenty of audible noise, and I prefer the natural sound of it outside the car.

It still blows my mind that BMW doesn't allow you to disable this in iDrive menus.

Anyone found how to code the CSL steering and trans? Supposedly you get better response. I've only seen people who will remote into your computer to code it.

That's for the F series. I wouldn't think it's the same.

The bulk of it is the same. The hard part is getting to the VO coding and doing it (getting all software and data loaded correctly). The only difference will be the type codes, as these are different models.

Apparently these are it:

Type codes:

M4 CSL G82 EUR / LL = 61AZ
M4 CSL G82 EUR / RL = 62AZ
M4 CSL G82 USA / LL = 63AZ
3.0L CSL G82 EUR / LL = 81AZ
3.0L CSL G82 EUR / RL = 82AZ

According to this thread: https://g80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1995541

Also according to this thread, you can code steering and suspension straight with BimmerUtility, so it should make it easier to do. Let us know if it’s true.
