Let's See Your "Supplements of Choice"
With more brands than we will ever be able to try, supplements are plentiful to say the least! Of course there is tons of "fluff" out there. These days I stock to protein, vitamin and mineral supplements with an occasional test Booster (mid 40s ya know). I've been a Gym rat for 2 decades!
So Which do you guys tend to buy or prefer? I've been on BSN and ON protein for quite sometime now. With bars, I tend to switch up brands to mix it up. eBay recently had a superb deal on some of my favorite: Oh Yeah - Victory bars. They taste great compared to most, use no synthetic sweetners, and have a nice soft consistency. No microwave needed lol! In case I've missed it, let's also post up "great deals" we all come across.

Good thread idea
For me...none. Absolutely nothing Huge waste of money and completely unnecessary... Everything can be achieved through proper nutrition, I just don't understand the need to supplement and face long term effects (and trust me, there are some...) |

FYI... The Bars are still available if interested at a really good price. Those of you who like Quest Bars may want to give these a try.

I take all this crap during a day.
Protein shake for breakfast with creatine. Builder bar late in the day. Pre workout. GYM Supps are very subjectively rated and hated, but I like them. Of course, they are not always the best for the body, but neither is Coca Cola and I drink that too! |

There are a few key ingredients that are widely known and proven to elevate Test levels: D-Aspartic Acid which is the key ingredient of the MuscleTec The Isa-Test goes a different route utilizing a plethora of herbal ingredients that raise libido and lower estrogen level. It definitely increases energy without making you jittery. I find these 2 in combination are probably the most effective T-Booster available short of actual gear. Should you or anyone decide to try these, PLEASE use as directed! Don't try the 'more must be better' route on strong supps like these.

I got the Anotest recently from Muscletech as a Groupon for less than $20, blue raspberry. I actually look forward to it each morning, it tastes pretty good. Can't say that it's having any noticeable affect yet other than I can stay awake until 10:30 now without a nap.
Post workout I give myself the "treat" of a chocolate Musclemilk light. Costco sells that shit by the case of 24 for about $20. I much prefer the twist off top vs the straw, but haven't been able to tell which is in the box until I get it home and open it. Every now and then I make myself and/or my son a shake with raw egg and !00% whey protein if we have to get to an early one of his games. Fills me up, and doesn't whey (see what I did there?) him down for the game. |

Out of a jar I take l-lysine, but that's just for the cold sores. . .
IF I feel a cold coming on, start in chewing the vit. C at 5-10 grams a day, along with a tincture of Echinacea, Goldenseal, and Yin Chao. I take that one mostly for the alcohol content. |

I use Syntha-6 protein post workout and as a meal replacement once in a while if I don't have time to eat. I also use BCAAs during my workouts instead of plain water (I average ~1-1.5 gallons a day anyways). Pretty basic stuff really.
I've tried using creatine monohydrate before but I'm not consistent enough with it in my off days to keep the saturation levels high enough to see any real benefits from it so I stopped using it.

I've tried:
Nutrend BCAA - taste good, 40ml before workout, 40ml after Amix BCAA - still left to taste Amix CarboJet Professional Vanilla flavour - tastes horrible! After one serving, I'm done with it... MuscleTech Anabolic Halo Chocolate - tastes wonderful. Love the fact that it contains everything you need + MINERALS, so you don't get cramps while exercising (although they say drink after exercise, I drink it while) Other then that, I have some generic Whey I supplement once, twice daily. To those who say you don't need supplements - show me a normal diet that gets you 150g of protein a day... I cannot make that realistically, so I supplement with 30g of whey... |

So is tofu stopping me from getting stronger? I tend to use it as a protein source for my lunches 3-5 days a week. I started with the above Anotest because I thought something was missing in the testosterone area, and now I'm thinking I need some other protein source for lunch.
