Has anyone been told that they cant order the Carbon Buckets for their allocation?
Im in CA and was just told that the Carbon Buckets are not available for my allocation. Is anyone else experiencing this? Any ideas?

I know that they have caused significant delays in other people’s builds.

Thats unfortunate, but the buckets are almost a must for me, so im figuring out what im going to do. Do you have buckets or the sport seats. I just am worried about sliding around everywhere. Ive sat and driven in the buckets a bunch in my friends M3 and they are more than comfortable enough.

I’m only 1.75m (5’9”) and 72kg (159lbs) and the adjustable backrest side bolsters in the standard seats hold me well in place, no sliding around when I can feel the pressure on both sides of my ribs.

agreed, i am a big fan of the standard sport seats being on the other end of the size spectrum (more shoulders than hips)

Same here, I won't considering myself "a huge guy" but pretty average, and the regular seats will do the job, you won't be slide around unless you're really short and skinny.

I'm curious if this affects my build at all. I ordered one with the bucket seats back in November. I havnt heard from my SA about the order being changed so hoping that the buckets are still being added.

I have driven the standard sports seat in the M3 & M4 in therm and agree they work at high speeds. The carbon bucket seats, puts you in a more natural position. I have the standard in my x3mc and CB in the M2 and they are so comfortable, even given my larger size.

Hoping they hold your order. The buckets are amazing. im just trying to prepare myself in case they are still unavailable by the time my car hits the port. I was told you can still add them once the car arrives at the port. Similar to the suspension option. |

I don’t know how true this is considering if you didn’t add the carbon pack then you wouldn’t have the carbon roof.. and there’s no way they’re adding the carbon roof at the port. Given the seats are included in the carbon pack, not sure how you could just “add the seats” at port. I think it has to be built as an allocation with the carbon pack from the beginning

I was told by the general manager at my dealer that the seats can be added separately at the port. I already have the carbon roof in my build. With the M2 you can select the roof and interior carbon without the seats. That is correct you cant add the roof at the port, but it is already included in my build.
Basically trying to see if the carbon buckets arent available by the time my car arrives if i should just wait for the 2025 model. Im pretty dead set on the getting the buckets. Like a lot of you are saying, the sport seats hold you in well enough, i should be fine. |

Yeah im in sales and totally get what you mean. Only thing is, my buddy has gotten about 4 BMW's from this guy over the years and recently got his G80 from him as well. He is pretty damn trustworthy. Theres always a chance he is bullshitting, but this guy is experienced and seemed very confident you can add them IF the carbon buckets become available again by the time my car arrives.
Just praying that the carbons become available again in a couple months time.... |

You may be right, but I have never once heard of the buckets being added at port. Your dealer should have a list of M performance parts which are all “port installed”, and as far as I know, these are the only items. Not saying you’re wrong, but just trying to save you from potential disappointment. I had an allocation with a submitted order for the carbon pack and when I was told it was no longer offered, my options were to give the allocation to the next person to order a non carbon pack, remove my carbon pack, or leave the order “sit” in the bank until the allocation was approved. I opted for the latter and my car should now be here any week now. May 2023 allocation for reference
