3 Series LCI II Update Carryover?
Assuming almost all the interior updates to the 3 series will carry over to the LCI of the 2 series (vents, crystal shift nub, flat bottomed steering wheel, etc.) No sport seats unfortunately, but that's to be expected as they didn't make it to the 4 series LCI.
Exterior-wise the 3 series has not really changed this round aside from rim options that might be a thing on the 2 series as well. Any thoughts on when we will see spy shots or anything of the 2 series LCI? I thought it was for the 2025 model which goes into production in July right? |

Changes are already up on the UK configurator. Interior as 3 series. New colours and wheel options. Removal of gloss back side panels, rear bumper and spoiler lip.

The black side skirts are now color matched and the rear just the center diffuser is black. For the interior you now have 5 options of trim, nice. Not sure if this is just a UK thing, but the black leather with red striping is nice too. The little M in the front grill is odd too (US won't get that as we don't get the side ones either luckily). Aside from Zandervoot which we knew about, Fire Red is a surprise (assumed it would be Vegas Red). Two expensive frozen options are there as expected too. Overall super disappointed tbh. Assumed there would be more physical changes like the M340i's first big LCI (which made it look much better). Honestly prefer the original G42, just upset that iDrive 8.5 would require a hardware upgrade. |

I believe those are the non adaptive LED headlights - which we don’t get in the UK anyway - at least we didn’t on last years model.
This isn’t the 2 series LCI, that is due next model year. I believe they’re just having to carry over some of the interior changes from the 3 and 4 LCI as they’re built on the same chassis so as to reduce manufacturing and assembly costs? Ye I don’t see why they can’t at least bring over the simple UI changes to iDrive 8. I also really like the new steering wheel, and it could be an easy swap but I’ve no idea how my heated steering wheel would operate (they’ve got rid of the physical button and it’s now controlled in iDrive 8.5) |

Wondering if LCI is MY25 or MY26? Previously I've read on this site: LCI in 04/25.
Now it looks like: 08/24: Carbon roof as an option on M240i/M240ix. Interior updates to make it look more upscale. New wheel options. Skyscraper Grey and Zandvoort Blue are available. That means LCI would be MY25 with an SOP 8/24, which aligns nicely with BMW SOP and EOP timelines (much better than the SOP in 4/25 date). |

Very odd that the 2022 got the shaft imo with a worse interior (outdated screen and unnecessary shifter imo). Then the 2023 got iDrive8, while 2024 got the shaft again as things were just taken away. Now 2025 gets interior updates and body matched side/rear lips that I'm assuming most woud like... However 2026 will likely be an even bigger improvement if it's the official LCI would better taillights and such. |

Although I like the big ID8 screen for the infotainment, I prefer the hood style gauge cluster, and I REALLY want a shifter because I prefer manually shifting with that rather than paddles. Also, Canada lost the option for the M color seatbelts in '23, but it was available for '22. As for this new update, I think I like most of it. The UK configurator has some interesting options and updates like the black seats with red inserts and other interior center console/dash trim options. My single biggest complaint on my '23 dash is the small tick and click noises I get from expansion and contraction of the materials on/in the dash. I'm pretty sure most of it is due to the vents and how they connect to the trim of the dash. I'm considering pulling off the dash trim at some point and adding some thin padding between the interfering plastics to reduce noise, but on that note it makes me question if I could buy and upgrade to the '25's new vent assemblies. I bet they're physically the same shape, but the harness may or may not reach the plug for what looks to be ambient lighting above the center vents. Also, no guarantee that putting in new trim fixes my noise complaints either. |

I like all of the changes except for the removal of the heated seat button (unless it's 1 or at most 2 clicks in iDrive 8.5) and I wish the color matched side skirts were an option as the black did look good on some colors (red and blue mostly and of course black). It's nice that whatever interior trim you select is now applied above the glove box so you don't have say silver metal accent and just gloss black.
I do wish they would have done something with that screen, but I most likely plan to lease so I can live with it for 3 years. |

Looks like a number of changes for the worse in the UK including M seats being an optional extra. Last edited by Pentland; 05-29-2024 at 01:29 PM.. |
