My new X5

Just picked up this brand new special ordered X5 last Friday with 2 miles on the clock. Was able to get it right off the truck and took it home with all the factory protection on it. ie no dealer wash to swirl it up. I probably could've done a quick light one step polish but I couldn't find any swirls or defects under a light. The wheels were a different story. An Adam's shampoo 2 bucket wash followed up with a coating of Jescar Ultra Lock+ sealant. I also want to do a couple coats of Collonite 845 wax on top of the sealant. With wheels off and clean they received a coating of GTechniq C5 wheel armour including the barrels. The calipers also got a coating of the C5. All the glass I coated with Wolfs ceramic glass coating. I opted not to do PPF right away or ceramic since this wont be a daily driver. I definitely want to do PPF soon though. Lastly, I have black emblems for the rear tail gate. I'll get better pics after I finish everything.

Beautiful spec. Wish I would have been able to get mine with all the protective stuff on it. Would have been lots of fun to remove it. Sounds like you really know what you're doing with the detail stuff. I'm just starting to get into it. Seems like a fun hobby, but I'm waiting for it to get above freezing.

if theres no marks then why not do a ceramic coating? its probably less work than the collinite - though i do like the collinite, very old skool.

Valid question. I eventually want to do ppf in the near future. If I do ceramic now that will be tougher to compound/polish off versus the sealant/wax combo.
