I found two sources so far.
Porterfield in Costa Mesa, CA was able to build Hawk DTC pads with the right shape for our car. Feel free to contact them, they know the M240i LCI now ;-)

I also got iSweep pads (made in order in Japan) that are one step up in terms of construction and price. Those are pure race pads that I’ll try next. I had them through RG Sports in Irwindale, CA.

Be aware that pads for the M240i are NOT all the same. BMW changed the design of the pads in 2023... see the thread I mentioned in the previous post for specifics.

Tom, these wheels make all the difference, not only in terms of look, but also weight-wise: Shaving 10lbs of rotating mass at each corner is a lot!

Also, I couldn't fit 255 tires in front with the OEM wheels, while they fit perfect with the Apex. Couldn't be happier!

Another question about brakes - did you swap rotors as well for track pads or you just rotate pads? Trying to better understand what I'm getting myself into

In the US this cooling pack comes with an extra oil cooler that might be very appealing to people tracking in hot summer. It's still situated in a weak spot and you need to purchase an extra protection aftermarket. This should be a standalone option IMO as you might want this radiator and not the bigger brakes if you plan on tracking...

Long story short, I was really tempted by this cooling package but talking to the dealer - who told me that they basically never sell one - dissuaded me. Time will tell if I regret it, but for now, the cooling on this car has been exceptional...

I think there are 18 inch wheels that clears it. But don’t take my word for it

Your wheels (18" VS-5RS) will actually clear the uprated ZTK calipers, I recall including that scan when we made them. Not having the ZTK pack doesn't seem to be slow you down though!

Kept the OEM rotors.

You don't even need to swap the pads if you have events coming soon tbh.

First time removing OEM pads in the front is longer because there some tape that glue them to the pistons, so you need to remove the calipers to move the pads. After this first time, no need to remove the caliper anymore: you can just push the pins, slide de pads, push the pins back and that's it. Easy.

At the rear you need to remove the calipers anyway, but the access is way easier.

That's great news for a lot of people!
And yes, the braking power was way enough, could brake very late in all corners - Which might not be the best way to go fast but it was good fun haha!

Vorhslag camber plates.
They are sold in a configuration specific for the OEM suspension.
Easy install.

UK and EU cars without this pack don’t even have the cooling via the triangle/pyramid shaped extra rads in the fenders.

When you option the pack you get those radiators but no under car oil cooler (which I like not having because insane place to put it ) and I have yet to experience any issues with oil temps

I think regardless of if you have the ZTK pack or not just upgrading the pads to a track or street+ pad is required and suitable

Wow, that's a huge difference between the EU and US cars then! It's like ours is coming with an extra cooling package already included. Cool!

100% agree on that, hence all the time I spent looking for track pads for this specific model

Glad to see some more G2X’s on the track. This chassis is a great daily + weekend warrior capable. Although it misses a lot of what the G8X offers for the track, it’s a good compromise for dual duty propose.
I’ve also not yet ran into heating issues when pushing hot laps during 90-100 F ambient temp. I also ensure to do some cooldown laps during session.

Was a rainy track day last weekend at Sonoma!

Through much trial and error, for autocross on RE71RS I've settled in at a bit above 39PSI front, and a bit above 36PSI rear. Targeting about a 3PSI difference.

My first couple times out I'd been square on the PSI and it understeered like I wasn't turning the wheel. Dropped 1 or so PSI on the rears and that seemed to address the understeer. Wound up really liking it—approaching the traction limit feels a bit more progressive, whereas with only the 1PSI difference, grip was there…and then it just wasn't.

Now if only there was something I could do in street class to get wider wheels or useful negative camber up front ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
